Isikoff, Whitaker, and Evan Thomas need to be fired and go to Afghanistan and beg for the forgiveness from the American troops staioned there.
The Newsweek punks have missed the whole point. Even if this story IS actually true, they still should not print it because it would be a small isolated incident within the 1.2 million people who serve in the US Military. The Newsweek punks have to learn to be responsible and not print or publicly discuss certain isolated incidents that are damaging to America and/or could lead to retaliation against Americans. The Newsweek punks are so eager to discredit the Bush Administration and the US Military that they never consider the consequences of what they print in their trashy magazine. The are like bratty kids in their lack of responsbility and complete lack of professionalism.
Well it may not have taken a guy in his pajamas to bust this one, BUT
It seems the guilty parties are handling it just the same--they are acknowledging making a mistake but they aren't admitting that the information they "mistakenly" printed, is false!!! Huh????????????????
I heard about this on FOX News Live with Brian Wilson yesterday.
so doea newsweak take the brave, liberal way out and spew that they take "full responsiblity" for this whole fiasco, which means they'll do nothing about it? who said janet reno never taught anybody anything?
Newsweek should be boycotted, MSNBC should be boycotted, and whoever worked on that story should get their ass fired. What they did is reprehensible, but they don't give a rip.
I noticed the NYT "had" to mention ..twice..that it was only a small item...as if that makes it ok..... typical sh*t
John Fund was on Drudge and he said that in those countries the people have no concept of a "free press", which to us means that we can choose to believe or not, a certain writer, that may or may not have a solid story....
BUT to them, not having a free press means that what is in newspapers and newsmagazines is government sanctioned or cleared material---
So to them, the fact that this was in print, means it is true and the US government "let" them print it...
Of course, CAIR and al-Jazeera and other Muslims groups are fanning the flames...
I'd cancel my subscription, but since I can't imagine an otherwise functioning adult actually subscribing, I can't cancel it.
I didn't know that anybody besides Doctor's Offices subscribed to either Newsweek or Times Magazines???
But, Mr. Whitaker said in an interview later, "We're not retracting anything. We don't know for certain what we got wrong."
I know whats wrong. You exist. Hopefully not long.
There are bunches of stories about the Koran being accidently burned or whatever and then the idiots go out and kill a goup of Christians or other Moslems or whoever some Imam points them to. What a bunch of tools.
Again, I must insist that no apology has been issued by Newsweek - for anything. They have merely expressed their 'regrets'. You can 'regret' most anything, and not admit any part in what you regret.
It's Rathergate all over. Newsweek has told a lie, and the lie has had consequences, but it's true just the same because it just happened to some other Koran which got torn up and thrown down some other toilet.
Newsweek in Wonderland, don't you know.
When the Newsweak story first appeared in FR, I expressed doubt that it couldl possibly be true, because there's no way on earth that you could flush a Koran down a toilet without having to call in a plumber to fix it. The whole idea was extremely improbable on its face.
Prisoners sometimes deliberately plug up toilets. Guards or interrogators don't. They'd be fired if they tried it.
Over the years my kids have tried to flush some pretty strange things down the toilet. One time they produced a flood that required extensive repairs to the library ceiling. Grownups know better
Actually, a neighbor on the next block subscribes to Newsweek. The last issue was accidentally delivered to my house. I did my part to assist the intellectual level in that household and gave that particular litter the gate.
Newsweek like the rest of the legacy media is all too willing to let its contempt for our country and hatred for the Bush Administration get in the way of a good story...
-----
It is a real paradox when we have men and women fighting and dying to protect these miserable losers' right to free speech, while they continue to denegrate this country and all that it stands for. Many of you have 'heard' me say it --- THIS IS AN ABUSE OF FREEDOM.
With freedom, comes responsibility NOT to abuse it, and support our country's culture, our founding documents, and its citizens. The MSM has exceeded all rights and truly abused the freedoms of the country it continues to bash...totally disgusting.
I agree, and am sorry that we live in a country like this that has been destroyed by stinkin liberals and commies, we need to take our country back from the turds in the media, and on the left.........otherwise....I don't want to think about that. But maybe it is time to STOP all the lying about our President and our Country. We don't do the horrible things that "newsweek" said we do, or "times" or nyt or wp, or abc, nbc and especially cbs........Let's throw them all out, don't watch or read any of their lies.......... do it now, teach your children the truth, not media lies!
And serve as human shields.
"Newsweek said this prompted Mr. Isikoff to go back to his source to try to confirm the original account."
How lame, how unprofessional, how manipulative of this leftist Rag Newsweek to spew written garbage like this and give ammuntion to the fanatical Islamic enemies. Idiots!
I hope your circulation diminishes to less than a trickle. The Islamo-fascists should be wiping their behinds with Newsweek pages. That would be a fitting use for this despicable magazine!
