What kind of lame question is this? They can't get tattoos, get married, have surgury, open a bank account, drink beer, smoke cigarettes, join the military, or vote - and you want to know if they should be allowed to commit murder? Don't fall for the culture of death dude.

You would think, but that is the law of the land in many states.

At least the "No" vote is winning:

Yes. (16%) = 52
No. (82%) = 272
No opinion. (3%) = 9

No one has the right to "consent" to the death of
another.

Parental notice laws protect parental rights but
parental consent laws are not pro-life. IMO

Questions:
Can girls get tubal ligations without a parent's permission?
Can boys get vasectomies without a parent's permission?

Both those procedures involve reproductive rights.

Lesforlife, you are right: parental consent laws are not prolife. Conservatives who favor such laws do so on the premise that at least some if not a majority of parents might refuse to consent to the abortion. And we don't know if that would be the case at all. Thanks for clarifying that point. Some parents will gladly consent to abortions in such cases, much as many consented to child labor abuses prior to 1938.

Yes, this question implies that an abortion is "bad" if the child procures it on her own but "good" if blessed by the parents. Many poll questions have such non-choices.

Is parental consent required for treating young people who have teratomas, testicular germ cell tumors, or ovarian germ cell tumors? [details on these germ cell tumors]

What if a boy has testicular cancer and the parents want him to undergo a radical inguinal orchiectomy, but he doesn't want his testes removed?

Should the doctor listen to the parents or the boy?

No way. A parent or guardian has to sign for any other medical procedure so why should murder of a baby be different?

Think of the lives that might be saved because the girl spoke with her parents. Some think that there parents will 'kill' them. Sure its an overstatement, but the point is they don't stop to realize that their parents love them and will help them get through a difficult time.

I personally have talked two girls into talking to their parents and in both cases, yes, the parents were upset, but after their initial shock they were very pleased to accept their daughters babies into their families. I happened to run into one of the girl's mother one day and she said that she was so glad that her daughter had found someone rational to confide in and that she was so excited about being a grandmother. :)

NO!

And you can better believe if that child got an abortion without parental consent or parental knowledge...

..and some medical emergency happened during or after the abortion...

..it would be the onus of the parents to clean it up, make it right, find a doctor, pay the bills, pay for the funeral!

The abortuary would deny everything.

If a minor should destroy somebody's property or cause personal injury, will the parents be responsible for the damages?

a better question would be "Should liberals be allowed to reproduce?" I at first put marry in the question but decided it didn't fit the liberal lifestyle.

I wonder what the reaction would be if during an abortion, a 13 year-old child suffered an infection, or began to hemmorage, and then later died? And let's say that 13 year-old lived in one of those "death culture" states where her parents didn't have to know. Who's fault would it be?

Oooooh - great idea!

Under VA law, my kids are my property.

So if my daughter were pregnant, the baby, by extension, is also my property.

So anyone involved in an abortion could be sued for willful destruction of property.

The lost income aspect of that could run into the millions.

LOLOLOL.

Well, I'm not sure that you got the idea I was communicating. Everything a minor does that causes injury the parents are responsible for, especially financially. If a child is taken, without the parents' permission, to have an abortion and she cause some injury while doing so, the perents would be legally responsible. Therefore, the notion that a minor can do anything without the parents' consent is absurd.

Forgive me if you were just being sarcastic.

No, I got it - that why VA low considers my kids my property.

And I wasn't being sarcastic, at all.

Can a minor get a tattoo legally with out consent? Can a minor get any other type of surgery without consent? NO why? Because the majority of minors have not matured enough to make those sort of decisions.

This whole thing should be a non-issue, meaning it shouldn't even be considered for debate.

Here the The Left's BS excuse. In cases of familial sexual abuse the minor would have to get permission from the abuser. THIS IS BS! If that is the case that the DemonRats are worried about the abuser should be arrested immediatly.

To give an abortion to a minor without consent is not a very smart, ethical, resonable thing to do. What if something goes wrong, i.e. a minor bleeds to death, gets an infection that causes sterility for the rest of her life. The doctors doing these things are Quacks! I will NEVER associate with a Dr. like this.

No! They should not be allowed! Parents are legally responsible for their children. Parents have been locked up, taken to court and sued because of their children's actions. With this being the case then the parent is responsible for the child in every area and has every right to know about such a life changing decision that could actually scar their child for life.

Thanks!

Sorry. Sometimes age causes degraded memory/perception chips to be used in spite of address protections. Something I share with Microsoft operating systems.

It's quite alright - I find the idea of bankrupting some damn good samaritan, that helped one's daughter to an abortion mill, the school, the murderer, and anyone else involved, quite funny.

Of course, my daughter is only four. So I am safe for a few years yet.

G-D willing.
