Sagging pants, thongs, and "do-rags" are among the banned items on the new Louisiana Boardwalk's Code of Conduct and Dress, Bossier City Police Chief Mike Halphen announced Friday. Flanked by dozens of law enforcement officers, Halphen held a news conference at the Boardwalk to announce the policy which he says is aimed at maintaining the Boardwalk as a "family atmosphere."
"There's not going to be any sagging pants, there's not going to be any 'do-rags', there's not going to be any cat-calling and there's not gonna be any cursing," Halphen said. "If ladies have their thongs showing, they're going to be asked to leave."
Boardwalk developer John Good says the rules will soon be clearly posted on property. Good says the goal is to keep the Boardwalk as "family" environment. "This area is for entertainment," Good said. "It is for shopping and for dining and nothing else." "It is not for any gang activities or crazy stuff." Halphen said the code is set by Boardwalk management. "It is private property and they can do that," Halphen said.
"If you decide to wear your sagging pants, you're going to be asked to leave before you ever get in the doors," the chief said. Halphen says the Boardwalk's private security will enforce the rules, and will call in Bossier City police for assistance, if needed. "If you refuse to leave, then you'll be going to jail for remaining after forbidden," Halphen said. "We want this a family atmosphere."
If more municipalities adopted this sort of attitude, this country would be noticeably better in a WEEK.

Good for him!
Little tyrants in the USA. Someone should write a book.
But I bet a lot of folks will forget to floss without those thongs as reminders.
Who are the tyrants?
It's private property. You are wrong.
The Chief of Police has nothing better to do that enforce standards on private property? Bossier City must be one clean town.
So if there is a big concert, but it is on private property, the police shouldn't be there? Wherever there are a lot of people about, the police will generally be there. Used to be that appearing in public with a thong-like device was considered indecent, so I really don't see the problem.
I call my youngest pup a little tyrant.
Very good retreiver though.
Yes, they should. Along with private security.
My comment is on the priorities of this chief. Like I said, BC must be a very clean city.
I was gonna go, but not now.
Good policy. Without it, the place would probably be full of gang members from day one.
Which of the proscriptions has elevated your risabilities?
Do rag, thong, or sagging pants?
What are do-rags?
Hey! We don't want her thong showing her thing.
You have something against community standards?
do rag and sagging pants.
LOL!
I want to be on Thong Patrol. I'll do a good job, really.
Glad to hear it! It is about time!
Maybe everything is going to be OK afterall.
We are a nation at war, over-run by a zillion illegal aliens, paralyzed by half a population of disloyal left-wing traitors, mesmerized by an endless charade that is euphemistically called The Michael Jackson Molestation Case and yet we are sensitive enough to ponder the niceties of doo-rags, baggy pants and thongs.
God is in his heaven.
Amen brother! You said what needed saying.
what the heck is a 'do rag'....:o(
Did you forget that Guiliani cleaned up New York City by first enforcing jaywalking (?) laws? You have to start somewhere. When you start small, people pay attention because they know someone actually cares about what happens in their city. And it works its way out from there.
Good point...thanks.

lol--- thanks.... I have been a recluse for nigh on a decade with a serious aversion to the tube and media in general...sheesh... I see I am not missing anything too important... :o)
"It is private property and they can do that," this is the key phrase. It is private property they can ban smoking, firearms or whatever. it is basically the same as one can do in their own home. Although I think that in a way the rule is a bit silly it is totally legal and in no way "tyranical."
That's a bossier city than I'm used to.
The exact opposite of don't-rags.
I call that on my private property, indiscriminate murder is now legal.
Hey, it's my property. I can do that.
Well, jaywalking is illegal BEHAVIOR and thats what should be focused on,not current trendy styles.
Wear all the doo rags, sagging pants you want as long as you don't disturb the peace and act in a disrespectful manner.
Punish behavior,not appearence.
***The exact opposite of don't-rags.***
"You do-rag something to me
Something that simply mystifies me
Tell me, why should it be
That you have the power to hypnotize me?"
Or something like that. Old, old, old song. Sing-along starts at 9 p.m.
Cue the ACLU...First Amendment defense here we come.
Watch it. You're leaving a paper trail. Your nomination to the Supreme Court will be filibustered.
"There's not going to be any sagging pants, there's not going to be any 'do-rags', there's not going to be any cat-calling and there's not gonna be any cursing," Halphen said. "If ladies have their thongs showing, they're going to be asked to leave."
Would this not fall in to the category of "behavior"?
You can legally shoot a home invader in many states.
State of inebriation, state of confusion, state of panic....
