How dare they?
How dare Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist bring his partisan message into the churches? How dare he bring his words into a house of worship as if his words were the words of God?
How dare the church leaders allow a government message to be viewed by their congregation, knowing Jesus fought hard to avoid all government and political connections? How dare these church leaders use Gods house for their own person/political gain?
They are no better than the false prophets Isaiah spoke of or the Pharisees Jesus spoke to when he said, "You Pharisees clean the outside of cups and dishes, but inside you are full of greed and evil, you fools."
How dare the congregations not stand up and shout, "My Fathers house is a house of worship, a house of prayer, but you have turned it into a gathering place for thieves, and God sees what you are doing"?
People, we need to open our eyes - or are we too blind to see? We need to open our ears - or are we to deaf too hear? Do Isaiahs prophecies still hold true today?
"These people worship me with their mouths and honor me with their lips. But their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is pointless because their teachings are rules made by humans."
How dare they?
Bud Fisher
Jefferson City, MO
Yawn.
Go tell it to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
I suppose all the democrat politicians going to black churches to campaign is okay. (/sarcasm)
Gee whiz...I bet old Bud must really pop a blood vessel every 4 years when democrats hold campaign events in black churches all across the country...NOT!
No He didn't.
I wonder if Mr. Fisher recollects John F'n Kerry's stops at churches to campaign...
Time to renew that prescription, Bud.
I should note that this is a "Letter to the Editor" - I intended to include a header to this post, but I posted without looking.....see the link
Those are some big women...
If he didnt and doesnt keep up the GOOD WORK, jesus etc will all be BANNED just like in France.
You'd rather have that?~}
big women usually sing better...
Thats how I knew it was over for Kerry...all the fat ladies singing...
Our first black president in action.
"Render unto Ceasar that which is Caesar's"
"Judge ye not..."
Jesus is Lord of all! (except government, civil laws, public policy....)
They use Twinkies as communion wafers. ;)

Jesus says, "It's not polite to point."
Each counts as two votes in Philadelphia.
WOW - Those democrats sure get Religious about election time.
Clinton went there vs. Dole and told them they had to vote for him because of all the lynchings and church burnings. Implied Dole somehow was associated with such things. Imagine how much better off we would have been witha Dole presidency. But Dole was "too old." Last time I looked Dole is still doing good and Clinton is still a scumbag.
Where's the picture of Al Gore on the pulpit claiming to have invented the sermon?
LOL!
What did frist say?
Nor should Rev. Walter Fauntroy have given any sermon from the pulpit of his church while he served as a Member of Congress.
But was it correct, in your view, for Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to preach from his pulpit while he was activley involved in politics?
I wonder if he was as upset when Clinton / Gore / Kerry made every other campaign speach from a black church?
I may not have it exactly correct, but what Sen. Frist said was that people of faith were being denied the opportunity to serve the United States -- because of their faith.
He was referring to the fact that several of the judges that the Democrats want to deny the opportunity to serve are people of faith. He implied that it is because they are people of faith that their nominations are being stymied.
This, of course, has the liberals all in a dither. They apparently have no problem attacking people who take their faith seriously as being "simple minded and easily led".
They just can't stand it when someone points that out to them.
If that is what he said, I have no problem with it. And thanks for the response.
This photo should be circulated as the ultimate illustration of hypocrisy. The only black people he's been around before are probably his and "Teraaaayza"'s cooks and maids
Bud should:
a. Take a Valium or something.
b. Take a couple hours and read the gospels.
Let's all send this photo to the a--hole who wrote the article and ask him about it.
That's an exact quote from the Constitution as understood by the Democrats. It's right there in Chapter 7, Article 52: "the church is separated from the state".
The Democrats are right now trying to implement Articles 42 and 43, and if they get them, they will move on to Articles 44 and 45. Just you wait and see. It's basically a roadmap to Democrat Party platforms for the forseeable future.
"Do Isaiahs prophecies still hold true today?"
Yes, his prophecies hold true, but honestly it is human nature of greed and using masses for political or economic gain that has not changed. That was what made Jesus so angry about when the merchants set up shop at the temple. God set the example to follow in so many ways they cant be mentioned in one post. However, God also knew that we are human and send Christ as our ransom exactly because our imperfections.
thank you So Cal
and frankly what Kerry was doing I believe does violate electoral laws?
How dare those Christians participate in politics. Who do they think they are, citizens or something? Don't they know that when they become Christians they have to give away their citizenship rights to the liberals?
LOL! Great pack of pics you've got there.
Bud Fisher?
Is this the phil hendry character?
Fisher as in fisher of men? seems like someone is fooling the newspaper.
you need to be a bit more specific that it is from the USSR constitution:
Article 52. Citizens of the USSR are guaranteed freedom of conscience, that is, the right to profess or not to profess any religion, and to conduct religious worship or atheistic propaganda. Incitement of hostility or hatred on religious grounds is prohibited.
In the USSR, the church is separated from the state, and the school from the church.
Article 40. Citizens of the USSR have the right to work (that is, to guaranteed employment and pay in accordance wit the quantity and quality of their work, and not below the state-established minimum), including the right to choose their trade or profession, type of job and work in accordance with their inclinations, abilities, training and education, with due account of the needs of society.
This right is ensured by the socialist economic system, steady growth of the productive forces, free vocational and professional training, improvement of skills, training in new trades or professions, and development of the systems of vocational guidance and job placement.
Article 42. Citizens of the USSR have the right to health protection.
This right is ensured by free, qualified medical care provided by state health institutions; by extension of the network of therapeutic and health-building institutions; by the development and improvement of safety and hygiene in industry; by carrying out broad prophylactic measures; by measures to improve the environment; by special care for the health of the rising generation, including prohibition of child labour, excluding the work done by children as part of the school curriculum; and by developing research to prevent and reduce the incidence of disease and ensure citizens a long and active life.
Article 43. Citizens of the USSR have the right to maintenance in old age, in sickness, and in the event of complete or partial disability or loss of the breadwinner.
The right is guaranteed by social insurance of workers and other employees and collective farmers; by allowances for temporary disability; by the provision by the state or by collective farms of retirement pensions, disability pensions, and pensions for loss of the breadwinner; by providing employment for the partially disabled; by care for the elderly and the disabled; and by other forms of social security.
Article 44. Citizens of the USSR have the rights to housing.
This right is ensured by the development and upkeep of state and socially-owned housing; by assistance for co-operative and individual house building; by fair distribution, under public control, of the housing that becomes available through fulfilment of the programme of building well-appointed dwellings, and by low rents and low charges for utility services. Citizens of the USSR shall take good care of the housing allocated to them.
Article 45. Citizens of the USSR have the right to education.
This right is ensured by free provision of all forms of education, by the institution of universal, compulsory secondary education, and broad development of vocational, specialised secondary, and higher education, in which instruction is oriented toward practical activity and production; by the development of extramural, correspondence and evening courses, by the provision of state scholarships and grants and privileges for students; by the free issue of school textbooks; by the opportunity to attend a school where teaching is in the native language; and by the provision of facilities for self-education.
Article 46. Citizens of the USSR have the right to enjoy cultural benefits. [PBS? Diversity education?]
This rights is ensured by broad access to the cultural treasures of their own land and of the world that are preserved in state and other public collections; by the development and fair distribution of cultural and educational institutions throughout the country; by developing television and radio broadcasting and the publishing of books, newspapers and periodicals, and by extending the free library service; and by expanding cultural exchanges with other countries.
Perhaps he should talk to Al Gore, Bill Clinton and John Kerry too.
A Church has always been used for numerous purposes. Where does the author think the Pilgrims met to discuss government issues?
Yep. Be sure to point out to anyone who claims that 'separation of church and state' is embodied in the constitution is actually quoting the USSR constitution, not the American one. Like I said, the USSR constitution contains all the liberal claptrap that they constantly spout. And we see how well that worked out. It's clear to me that they want to force the same onto us, beginning with 'separation of church and state' and going on to national health care, free housing, state mandated and regulated work, state funding for PBS/Pravda like you pointed out, and all the rest.
