Pizza management isn't known for it's rewarding pay and career advancement.

Er, well, maybe. But I just checked that post again, jamaly says his friend is working between 70 and 90 hours a week, for $500! So, you know, I don't belive it, that's the thing.

As a professional paymistress I say "Show me the timecards!"

I knew I would get flamed for my post. However, I do know that this college educated man was promised and is still being promised a very good wage for our part of the country. So far his paychecks aren't even coming close to what they have promised. I haven't actually seen his time cards; but, I know this guy works 12 to 16 hours almost every day. He is anal retentive and probably works more hours than he is expected to work. He consistently gets excellent scores when inspectors and owners stop by whether scheduled or surprise visits. He enjoys the work and wants to make a success of this job and move up the management ladder to district manager himself someday. He doesn't quit ANYTHING until there is no other option. He has kept his faith in Dominos even though his family is suffering due to it. Maybe some day it will pay off; but, I doubt it.

From what you posted about your friend, I can only conclude he's a fool. I just don't see how that's Domino's problem.

"He doesn't quit ANYTHING until there is no other option. He has kept his faith in Dominos even though his family is suffering due to it."

I can sympathize with your friend, I've been known as a bit of a work-a-holic myself. However, if, as you say, his family is suffering it is time for him to move on. If opportunity is so limited where he lives he may need to move on quite literally.

Currently I'm facing up to the fact that I've stayed at my current job for too long, I've had my reasons and certainly my rewards, but I've just lost my mojo for it, and I don't expect to get it back. So I'm in a bit of a quandry myself.
