MIAMI - The family of a severely brain-damaged woman who died after her feeding tube was removed in March said Friday they still have not been told where her remains will be laid to rest.
Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings, who waged a lengthy court battle over her end-of-life wishes, said on Fox's "Hannity & Colmes" show that her husband is keeping her remains from them.
"They were supposed to tell us, and we still have not heard from ... Michael Schiavo where Terri's been laid," said Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler. "Our family expected this. Michael has disobeyed court orders throughout the ordeal and continues to do so today."
Michael Schiavo is under court order to notify the Schindlers of his plans for a memorial service. He has had his wife cremated and has said her ashes would be buried at a family plot in Pennsylvania.
George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, did not immediately return a call Friday night seeking comment.
Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 in a Pinellas Park hospice, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed by court order. She suffered brain damage in 1990 after a chemical imbalance caused her heart to stop.
She left no written instructions in the event she became disabled, and her husband said she never would have wanted to be kept alive in what court-appointed doctors called a persistent vegetative state with no hope of recovery.
The Schindlers, however, doubted she had any such end-of-life wishes. They maintained she would benefit from rehabilitation, despite most doctors saying her condition was irreversible
I certainly wouldn't lend this guy any of my powertools. He'd never bring them back.
jeez - let it go already
Let what go?
Micheal needs to be held accountable to court orders. He certainly believed in them before he murdered his wife
Do think the Schindler family has right to know where her ashes are buried? Should the lounge lizard have to follow the law? A simple yes or no will suffice. :)
the terri fight. what will we be the next argument?
so whatever happened to the autopsy report?
Let what go? This guy did all of this for one person...himself. He had and has no respect for Terri's family at all. The guy is a scumbag, pure and simple. I had a brother-in-law like him. Jerk!
If the subject is of no interest to you ignore the thread. For one thing, this pattern of behavior by Michael Schiavo confirms what I came to believe, and what turned me around on this. He's a selfish man, interested only in revenge.
I don't know who messed up the headline, but it is the SCHINDLER FAMILY, not the "Schiavos" who have been denied knowledge of where Terri's ashes are. This headline makes no sense. It needs to be corrected. Thanks.
"She suffered brain damage in 1990 after a chemical imbalance caused her heart to stop."
I love how they always fail to mention it's because she was bulimic.
But then she couldn't be as much of a victim, I forgot, my bad.
all you have to do when you scroll down to a thread you don't like is to keep on scrolling
Who is STUPID enough to believe Mikey Schiavo on anything? His actions show he's a scumbag and scumbags are liars 99% of the time.
Schiavo lies and contradictions: http://www.zimp.org/stuff/contradictions.htm
Take off.... there a thousand other threads here.
Michael Schiavo is only continuing to prove what everybody already knows about him - he is an out-of-control control freak!
The court doesn't seem too anxious to enforce the ruling requiring him to divulge the whereabouts of her remains.
Jeb's fault....
The AP messed up the headline. Leave it FR to fix it.
I have only been here a short time but there is something I just don't get. If a topic is not something that interests a person or is felt to be already covered extensively, why then is it not just ignored or passed by. Why is it necessary to make comments like this, "let it go already"? Just asking.
All the Terri crap.
It was nobody's business
to start with, and now
it's sure as hell not
our business. America
isn't some psycho
commune where people
get to stick their noses in
others private lives!
Hardly the point. Should her family be allowed to know where her remains are? A simple yes or no will suffice. :)
Indeed. Just ask Michael Skakel.
Hannity said last night that Mark Fuhrman is going to write a book on this.
Yes that is why murder is a private issue between two people.
Do you have a copy of the ruling? WHEN is he required to divulge the whereabouts of her remains? What does the order say about that? Or are you just speculating?
The AP headline editor, that's who.

He stated his reasons. He knows they will make a mockery of her final resting place. They will use it in the media. Don't you think she's had enough? And yes, I think he's been a much "classier" guy than the parents.

The most encouraging thing is Mark Furman is investigating the entire case and writing a book. His book on Martha Moxley finally brought her justice after many years. This was a crime that our courts became an accomplice too, this will all come out. I'm convinced of that.

You should have watched Hannity last night. It wasn't a heart attack, and there's no proof it was bulimia. In fact, they have no idea what caused Terri's collapse at all. Only Michael was with her, and he gave at least two divergent stories about what happened. The doctor said there was something wrong with her neck, a strange rigidity. Terri and Michael had been fighting all day, and her friend told her not to go home. These are facts.
The Schindler's didn't find out about a lot of this until after the DA said it was "too late" to pursue. I don't think I need regale you with tales of Florida Law Enforcement.
Mark Fuhrmann is writing a book on the Terri case. It's already listed on Amazon. Supposedly it will blow the lid off the case. I hope he can do for Terri what he did for Martha Moxley.
"the terri fight" was toxic here, and served no purpose. But you have to admit, this is inhumane and gratuitously cruel to the Schindler family.
The state rightly intervenes in issues regarding the welfare of children, elderly abuse, spousal abuse, etc. I think Dr. Charles Krauthammer had it right when he stated that when a person has become infirm and unable to make his or her wishes known, a spouse with an obvious conflict of interest should not be the be-all-and-end-all when it comes to pulling the plug.
It ain't private when some jerkoff is trying to kill his wife....wheich is exactly what happened. It ain't private when the courts considered this matter. Perhaps you think what goes on between Michael Jackson and 12 year old boys is a private affair. You are spouting off libertarian style
Of course it's a yes.
I do feel sorry for her family, but the fact remains that Terri put herself in the position she was in because of the choices she made for herself.
The whole thing is sad.
Sooo, you're telling me to scroll past a reply in response to me asking why Bronco Buster didn't just scroll past the thread. I see.
LET IT GO????????????
What if it was your daughter or sister who was the victim of this? would you give it a rest then......
He did a great job with the Moxley case. I look forward to reading the book & finding out what made her collapse.
Terri held a mirror up to us all. The mirror asks: Are you fool enough to believe her scumbag husband on anything? I don't trust scumbags to tell the truth. What you need is a --->
Who you are going to invite to Thanksgiving is a private family matter.
Having an inconvenient wife executed by the state is not.
He doesn't get to make that call. He is under a court order to tell them where she is buried. All the people who were screaming about following the law in this matter grow silent. Schiavo's just rubbing salt in the wound now.
And how come Felos, who never saw a news camera he didn't love, was suddenly unavailable for comment. Too busy meditating, I guess.
""the terri fight" was toxic here, and served no purpose."
No, far from being toxic it proved useful in separating true-believing conservatives willing to fight with any means necessary for the right cause from "talk talk" conservative wannabees who tended to side with Michael Schiavo. Personally, if I ever found where MS buried TS' ashes, I'd be tempted to dig them up and return them to her parents. Even if I were caught, it would be a misdemeanor. BFD!
I think Mark is onto something. He doesn't waste his time investigating cases he can't expose to the light of day. Go for it Mark! He has a fine rep with his brother officers who will tell him things others won't. Same for people in the court system who have the inside track on Pinellas County shenanigans. Be very afraid punk Greer. You too deathboy Felos. Mikey will also be exposed.
Perhaps he doesn't want a Dianah Shrine over her grave.
He is under Court to notify the family
But from what I can tell, Michael Schiavo has made no plans of a memorial for Terry as of yet
He could have a Memorial for her a month from now, a year from now or ten years from now
He is not under a court order as to WHEN he has to have a memorial and lay her ashes to rest
"He is not under a court order as to WHEN he has to have a memorial and lay her ashes to rest"
Michael Schiavo probably never had any real love for Terri. He probably flushed her ashes down the commode as soon as he took them home.

We dodged a bullet but Terri didn't.
