The siege is well under way and has made remarkable advances in the last twenty years. Today there are many communities in the U.S. southwest where someone speaking English is the exception rather than the rule. Buy virtually any product today from a retail outlet and instructions on the label are in English & Spanish. English is given priority, always first in a instruction pamphlet or at the top of the label on box or bottle. Based on personal experience (I'm originally from Canada) that will reverse itself in the U.S. southwest in the next decade or so, then English, in time, will disappear entirely ... just ask any Anglo who still lives in the province of Quebec. They've been down the path ... they know where it leads.

Good post, because you are dead on, regardless of what the "over my dead body" types may say. They are speaking from their perspective of the situation _today_.

But the Southwest is destined to change so completely, and so irrevocably, that by the time the overwhelming Hispanic/mestizo majority clamors for its "freedom", it will little resemble what it does today. Look at Los Angeles c.1950 vis-a-vis the place _today_.

Seventy-five to one hundred years from now, when the "Republica del Norte" declares its independence from the United States, not only will the rest of the country be willing to let it go, the rest of the country will be _glad_ that it's going, and happy to be free from it.

Oh, yes, they've done such a splendid job of running Mexico, it's natural that they should come up here and take over our southwestern states. And once they've run those into the ground, they'll want to come to what's left of the USA to work. Unfortunately, that option won't be available to them since the Muslims will have taken over the other American states by that time.

By what historical right do these people claim Northern California? The historical claims of Spain and later Mexico placed the San Francisco Bay at their extreme northern border, and the practical northern limit of their power was the Monterrey Bay. Everything north of that was claimed by Russia until they ceded their settlement to Sutter in 1841.

Of course, I think that ALL of their claim is bogus, but this particularly galls me.

When the people from Albania came too Kosovo they didn’t have any intent on taking Kosovo. You also have to remember Mexicans believe California and the region is theirs by right.
