It's unbelievable how some people are willing to jump on this bandwagon not realising where this could go.

"I'm sure many gynocologists didn't anticipate having to do abortions either."

That only makes the Baby Killing Courts that much more evil.

You have to have a license to dispense drugs. Why doesn't Rod just suspend that law too? "Rod" is playing politics here. He's a democrat. He wants to be president

"If I owned a pharmacy and you refused to fill prescriptions to my customers, I'd fire you in a nanosecond. I didn't hire you to pick and choose which of my paying customers you would tell to go take a hike."

Well, that post confirmed my suspicion that you've never run a business. With that attitude your labor turnaround would be very high. Pharmacists are professionals; they don't like being treated like pizzaface hamburger flippers, which is the way you would be treating them under your above described methods. Maybe you went to the same business school as John Bolten?

There's an old adage: "The Customer is Always Right." That adage goes down the toilet when the customer asks me to do something which I consider illegal or immoral. Any savvy business owner understands this and respects it.

freedom of conscience is the law!

Do you know how many doctors we'd have here in the States, if they were all MANDATED to perform ABORTIONS?

The legal system is out of whack. That's the root problem. Employees should not be coerced into murder. Mothers are throwing their babies into trash cans. And that's no different, is it? Why not legalize that?

If anyone wants the system to be fixed, they need to clear out the leftist judges via redistricting, impeachment, etc.

Abortion is a violation of their Hypocratic Oath. But wouldn't it become a Hypo-CRITIC oath to kill?

Why are you quoting 'contribute to a customer's sexual activity'? The original article doesn't talk about that at all, and that's not why those offended are refusing to fill the prescriptions.

Oh good, nazi references. This is going to be a constructive thread.

Okay, I think Jewish doctors should be able to refuse to treat Germans in the emergency room at trauma centers. I think nurses should be able to refuse care to black patients if it offends their moral values.

I think 911 operators should hang up on Mexicans.

Got a problem with any of that?

How about refusing to give an MRI to a patient because I'm protestant and he's catholic?

How far do you want to carry this nonsense?

If you can no longer do the job for which you're hired, QUIT. Get a paper route.

from the article...

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a pro-life law firm, filed suit in state court on behalf of two pharmacists who say dispensing such drugs violates their moral beliefs. They contend they should not be required to participate in the abortions the drugs may cause or to contribute to a customer's sexual activity.

"You don't get to exercise your conscience on your employer's dime."

That's just so wrong that it's breathtaking. I exercise my conscience at work almost all of the time. Anyone who goes to work and leaves their conscience at home is an employee I would not want.

Pharmacist's refusing to issue morning-after pills are equal to office workers who refuse to steal from the supply cabinet. Both are rare.

The pharmaceutical business is already one of the most heavily regulated and policed businesses in this country. His nose and every other politician's nose has been in it for 100 years.

LOL! Illinois 'Rats feel its their "Patrician duty" to make all moral decisions for everyone else.

Let’s say tonight Roddie Blow-dry-bitch dreams that certain drugs cost too much; and the people who use those drugs are a burden on the State. So tomorrow, Roddie decries that all people who are a burden on the State shall be prescribed a terminal drug dose; because that person is a burden on the State. And Pharmacists have a duty to fill the prescription.

Do all Illinois Pharmacists goose step to Roddie’s whim? And should we fire anyone who objects too this Executive Order?

Needless to say, if you don't trust your Pharmacist's judgment with drugs, guess you better take your business elsewhere.

Yeah, a good business owner always allows his employees to refuse to sell the products he's marketing. Business School 101. Send those customers elsewhere, the recipe for success since currency was invented.

You don't get to exercise your conscience on your employer's dime. If you have your own business, fine, do what you want. But if you work for me and refuse to do what I want, you're gone. Nobody forces you to take the job. That is between the pharmicist and his/her employer. It is not the concern of the government. In small towns in days past, often the pharmicist was also the owner of the pharmacy. This person should be allowed to do whatever they think is right.
