If four million mourners rushed to Rome, how many patriots could surge to any spot where the U.S. Government fails its Constitutional duty?

Bush is so determined to have America invaded to the point of destruction, that if 49 million patroits showed up on his door step demanding he do something to stop immigration, he'd just smile and shut the door.

Bush listens to a higher power in the world, and not to the people who elected him.

I'm hardly a "close the borders" enthusiast, but that does appear to be the case here, and it is that, and not any loose application of terminology, that ought to concern the Bush administration.

Unfortunately, anything less that "close the borders" is a first step down the slippery slope with this administration.

As with any invasion, a complete stop has to happen, and the country needs to see where it is. Without that the human, cultural, and economic pressures will destroy huge parts of this country.

I just went down to Florida, where you can see the impact more growth is having. That area is no longer sustainable without more construction, growth, destruction of the area.

I'm ashamed of President Bush on this issue. I can't figure him out unless

He wants to put on his resume he was President of a country with 300 million people instead of 280.

Or His work hands in Crawford are all illegal.

Who knows..TANCREDO IN 2008 !

Sorry, but I think you are wrong. A vigilante group is one that is organized to uphold the law when the government responsible is unable or unwilling to do so. Vigilantes in the past also enforced the law, sometimes with convincing violence (as in '49er California).

The Minutemen are there for one purpose--to advise the Border Patrol if they detect any illegals crossing into private property on the US side of the border, and a good distance (one mile), away from the border. The Minutemen do not arrest or otherwise stop the illegals and certainly do not enforce US laws or punish the intruders. Hence they cannot be called vigilantes. The Prez was wrong to call them that. How about calling them what they really are: US neighborhood watchers?

See "The Return of the Minutemen" by Cinnamon Stillwell in (surprise, surprise) SF Chronicle. It is a very strong article by a strong Bush supporter, but she too is now speaking out.

I've come to the conclusion that Bush and his Open Border Buddies are simply criminals.

Sean Hannity reported today, in the opening few minutes of his show, that the Arizona ACLU put out a press release saying something like "Conservatives have double standard on border issue." Sean explained that the statement from the AZ ACLU actually was intended to be taken seriously! It said that Sean Hannity had "illegally" climbed the fence separating the USA from Mexico, and then re-entered the USA after having been in Mexico! His point was that the wackadoo left is so deranged that they'll seize on anything, ridiculous or not.

If such tactics don't show desperation, I don't know what you'd call them. But the fact remains that neither party wants to take bold, courageous and effective action on the out-of-control immigration invasion.

Hannity DID step through a hole in that fence last night on his Fox TV show, but he also clearly stated while doing the demonstration that there is a 3 ft. "no man's land" and that he'd stood on that terrain and never went into Mexico, but the AZ ACLU put out their "press release" about Hannity's "illegal" border crossing, anyway........just to see how many unobservant, ignorant people's attention they could get with it.

This president is usually portrayed as politically attuned. One terrorist attack killing or maiming one school child traced to an illegal border crossing would doom this president and perhaps the entire republican party to an ignominious end. They would be lucky to escape being tarred and feathered (with many rank and file republicans wielding the tar and feathers.) It is imperative for republicans in Congress who wish to escape this fate get on record as fiercely opposing the president and they must also get the democrats in congress on record as opposing any effort to control the borders.

Believe me, all normally conservative or republican spokesman in the media (Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Hume, etc.)will join in the attack on the president and those who left us unprotected at our borders.

I've seen/heard that somewhere around 80% of Americans want the borders secured...now if the MinutemanProject/Tancredo can get the President to listen to the majority of us instead of labeling good citizens "vigilanties" just maybe we'll make some progress.
