Removal of a General of the ministry for the Interior

BAGHDAD - a concerning General ministry for the Iraqi Interior was removed Tuesday morning with his bodyguards in a district of Baghdad, indicated a source of this ministry.

"the General Jalal Mohammad Salah, chief of the armoured brigade of the ministry for the Interior was removed Tuesday with 10H30 (06H30 GMT) with his bodyguards in the Mansour district" in the west of Baghdad, specified this source.

The armoured brigade account 1.600 men. It acts of one of the highest removed officers.

Iraqi army general kidnapped in Baghdad - police

BAGHDAD, April 5 (Reuters) - Gunmen kidnapped an Iraqi army general in western Baghdad, police said on Tuesday, the latest insurgent abduction of a top Iraqi official.

Police said Brigadier General Jalal Mohammed Saleh was pulled from his car. He was the commander of a special armoured division, one of the first armoured units in the re-formed Iraqi army.

Insurgents have kidnapped several leading Iraqi officials and military officers. Some have been killed, with video footage of their deaths posted on the Internet.

so what good are ' bodyguards' if they don't put up a fight?
I cannot believe how many Iraqi officials are taken out in this way , without any resistance whatsoever ....doesn't look good. You don't hear about this ever happening with the Israelis do you?
