Thank you for demonstrating that my perception that you don't apply proper deductive reasoning is absolutely on target.

You don't even understand anything I said and that has led you all over in the map making faulty conclusions.

Sad...

Long time, no post....been busy.

Just had to comment, however, that I believe that the Pope has agreed to this suffering in the same way that Christ chose not to die until he had done his job completely. Pope JP is teaching the world a lesson in humility. This man was an athlete, how humiliating it must be for him to be in such a state. I really believe that he knowingly accepted it. (Just seeing parallels with some of my favorite saints: Bernadette, Jacinta from Fatima, and St. Therese.)

Your comments are really ridiculous and inappropriate. There are many that are ambivalent about setting aside legal principle in order to obtain a favorable result. I want Meanwhile, they want Terri to live and would give anything if there were a way out of this mess. Lumping them into the camp with the true lovers of death and haters of JPII is really over the top.

I expect the Kill-Terri crowd will start calling for John Paul to be starved to death also.

I had that same thought too. B-( Sad, ain't it. B-(

With the Israel/Palestine thing going on, and the Pope being so ill, I'm thinking about donning my "THE END IS NEAR" sandwich boards and going to preach Revelation on the corner. Watching for a treaty to be signed over in the middle east...

In 1860, the churches of the North condemned the churchgoing people of the South claiming that no good Christian would defend the institution of slavery. In point of fact, many of the best Southern theologians of the day defended the right of Southerners to own slaves and rejected the idea that the federal government could take away their property rights.

There were in that day people of good will, good orthodox conservative Christians, who took opposing sides on the issue of slavery. It is simplistic and silly to automatically assume that there is only one proper way to view this matter.

I wish the name calling would stop. Attributing motives to others is bearing false witness against one's neighbor: a clear violation of the ninth commandment.

you make an excellent point, and knowing what we know of the Pope, it seems very likely that is his attitude towards this. I am sure he is ready to go and be with God, but will not stop working until his time is absolutely up.

Syria is collapsing too, the tsunami, earthquakes, tornadoes in Cali, mud slides, gay marriage, massive hurricanes and on and on. Things are getting weird. March, In like a lamb. Out like a lion.

Nope. It's exactly right. As Rush said yesterday, the culture of death is very seductive. That's why it has been so successful. If all who subscribe to its tenets wore Nazi uniforms, we wouldn't have a problem identifying (and, presumably, repudiating) them, would we? But neither would we be treated to the spectacle of public--and publicly sanctioned--starvation in a supposedly Christian nation during Holy Week.

I am not at all surprised that somebody who would defend euthanasia would also defend slavery. Dismayed, but not surprised.

Is your brain oxygen starved? I can't understand someone making that kind of statement unless they were looney.

Could it just be his age?

I understand that this is one of the leading causes of death.

his age?? Please tell me that my 79-yr-old father who works out every day (and is healthier than I am) has more than 3 years left!

It's obvious that Pope JP II has been carrying a heavy cross. He's gotten up at least three times under the weight of it.

This "All Terri All The Time" is an emotional outlet that needs to stay on the Terri threads and not be brought into other threads on FR, IMO.

You Got That Right! What a role model for the world. I am not even catholic. I saw him bless some doves once on fox news. They were flying around his head. It was beautiful. It was like they were sent there. Anybody see that?
