I said that people who believe Terri Schiavo is in a PVS and therefore believe it is not wrong to remove the feeding tube are not necessarily evil and can be people of goodwill.
This was misinterpreted by many, some knowingly and maliciously, as if I advocated for removal.
Further, I do not believe that those who are good people are on par with culture of death dems as I think the issue of PVS is a relevant distinction as opposed to wholesale disregard for life.
Fox News just aired live footage of the Pope doing his Wednesday audience from his window in the Vatican. This cleared up any doubts that he was to ill to do it. He looked OK, and not too pooped to Pope.
Of course not.
Those of us, myself included, who think we know what it right at all times and feel anger or even hatred in our heart for those who disagree, are sinful. I do not let myself out of that description at all. We can the sin without hating the sinner.
i am afraid we will be saying good bye to the pope before to long. i have the most respect for that man.
It's group hysteria in its worst form. I can understand the irrationality & the hate-filled speech from the heathen. But, to hear self-professed Christians & Catholics rant & rave like this is confounding. Inevitably, they end their diatribes with "pray for Terri." It begs the question, "Why?" It's obvious that they don't believe that God is in control of this situation. Has anyone considered the possibility that Terri is a Paschal lamb? That through her suffering & death, God is forcing all of us to confront & rebuke this "culture of death" in which we live?
I DO pray for Terri & for His Holiness, John Paul II. I pray that God holds them both tight in his comforting & merciful embrace. The Lord giveth & the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
"I said that people who believe Terri Schiavo is in a PVS and therefore believe it is not wrong to remove the feeding tube are not necessarily evil and can be people of goodwill."
I see what you are saying, but I disagree with you. I think that people of goodwill truly consider all of the facts and would not agree with withholding food and drink from someone just because they (the people we are talking about) believe the disabled person has PVS.
I believe that a vast majority of our population truly does not want to think things like this through, so they grab the nearest talking point that they hear.
I will not refer to these people as people of goodwill. I will, however, give them the benefit of the doubt and refer to them as misguided.
By the way, I am always serious about a life and death matter that involved innocent life.
"Those of us, myself included, who think we know what it right at all times and feel anger or even hatred in our heart for those who disagree, are sinful. I do not let myself out of that description at all. We can the sin without hating the sinner."
I do not hate the people who disagree with me just because they disagree. Most of them I try to persuade because I believe they are not fully thinking this whole thing through.
I do hate this sin though, and I do find the word sin the proper word for the process of death that Terri is having forced on her.
The way it's looking, maybe he and Terri will be sharing a seat in First Class?
The world is so troubled now - the unrest, dissention, criminal, and immoral behavior are at a pinnacle. Our emotions are racing over events that cause even the most logical of persons to search for answers, and question the reason for the suffering and extreme ugliness that we have been observing in the past few months. Even those who understand that there is a tremendous battle being fought on the spiritual level between good and evil find it constantly challenging to hold onto complete faith in God's power over such strong forces that are now at hand.
Terri's fight is a prime, planned event of the devil's most devious, deceitful, design. It is not a coincidence that these two people are suffering together while the whole world watches. Whatever the outcome, whatever the time of their deaths, we must all remain ever vigilant, be most fearfully aware, and pray with the greatest fervor than at any other time in our own recent history.
Amen to that. Equally galling are the folks who have the bumper stickers claiming "Jesus was a liberal". How sick.
Caller on Laura today stated she was catholic (questionable) and didn't understand why the Pope was still hanging on. That sentiment is active out there.
I don't think they know what Catholicism really means... it's more like a fashion statement at this point.
For some, I agree. I wasn't certain if this person was a catholic in the manner John Kerry is a Catholic, or if she was lying.
It was clear she wanted the Pope to die.
Very well stated. Excellent post!
Thank you. But I thank God for the words. He put in my mind and heart. We can all hear them, if we listen. We all know the truth, but sometimes the sound of the battle numbs our inner senses. Be quiet, you will hear Him, too. He loves us all so very much.
Thank You
