Can someone please alert the admin that attacking other rogue nations only spawns terrorism? IMHO To effectively fight the WOT, it must be done on our own soil while keeping the best relations with our oversea's neighbors as possible. Also when did Iraq become part of this war? I don't believe they had anything to do with 9/11, we went in because there was an imminent threat from Saddam that he wanted to use his supposed chems, etc on us. correct? I'd much rather read about the infiltration of sleeper cells within the US than what type of rockets we're using on supposed terrorist states overseas.

You and I are of very different opinions on these things. I think we've seen more than enough ties between Iraq and 9/11. I've seen more than enough clues that Iraqi weapons including WMD were moved into Syria and or Lebanon. I'm not writing to dup or manipulate you or others. The truth is what we seek. The world has changed, we are in a war; I hope that it won't take another (bigger) strike on the US for people of your pursuasion to figure it out.

The force that is threatening us is to be found in _many_ of the countries around the world. We rightly are dealing with it there rather than in our streets. Maybe this will help? We've never waited until our enemies landed on our soil to defend ourselves; why? Cause the USA has been smart.

Exactly! While the Euros play their diplomatic games, the bad guys have extra time to stamp out their dissenters and build up their arsenals. The whole diplomatic game is a joke.

I say let the Euros play their delusional games. It will make them feel as if they are actually useful. Meanwhile, our government can do the heavy lifting and hopefully get some real results. One thing is certain: we have a much better chance of checkmating Syria than the Euros. The Syrians WISH that only the Euros were involved.

Their leaders won't say it, but the people know. NATO isn't it anyway, not since the French pulled out. NATO could be gone and the American military power would still be there. The Euros are already involved in Lebanon/Syria. It is their turf, they should maintain the peace there. Who knows, maybe democratic Iraq will take care of Syria once their new gov't is set up. It is not necessary nor desireable for the Americans to do everything.

IMO, either of two conditions cause us to intervene militarily:

1) The Syrians go all Tianenmen Square on those cute little co-ed protestors who caused the goobernment to resign. Not to be confused with the all-male, nazi-like demagoguery of the assorted imamas and Syrian thugs that strutted around this week.

2) They don't stop fueling the insurgency in Iraq. IMHO, this is the most likely to cause us to incur against their borders with boots on the ground. And I think we're just lookin' for a good excuse to do it.

I guess you haven't been paying attention - we're *leaving* Western Europe. Check out all the base closures.

France bailed out of NATO long ago. Most of the western EU countries are all for dissolving the "useless" NATO, kicking out our bases, and forming an "EU Military Alliance" instead. Eastern Europe is a different story - they actually seem to be interested in sucking all the money out of France and Germany and then leaving.

If "the people" there know about it, how come they keep protesting our bases? (And then wondering why their local economy goes to sh** when one closes.)

NATO has had no reason to exist since 1991. NATO should not have been available to bomb Serbia. Even then it was 90% American hardware and personnel. The EU wants its own armed forces, yet it wants no armed forces at all, and can afford to think this way since the American military is dominant everywhere.

I would think Iran as the logical next target,Without them Syria would fall into line without firing a shot.

Well, if the USA goes into Syria, I wonder what the MSM and the Liberals will have to say now, once the WMDS will be found ?

This would be very nice if it did come to happen - But the odds are very slim that Saddam WMD's would show up in Syria. (Possibly some which could trace to the late 1980's....but it doesn't appear Saddam was producing WMD's in the late 90's before Gulf War II ....Iraqi Freedom).

A few days ago, I told my brother, that Syria just took their troops, and had them put on civilian cloths on and have a pro-Syria protest in the streets of Lebanon.
A few days later, we were listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio and he confirmed or reiterated what I told my brother a few days before.
Those pro- Syria protesters was nothing but a shame, and propaganda by Syria.

You know, I got disappointed when heard that they might or are going to reinstate the PM of Lebanon that resigned last week.
I hope the people kick his butt out of office.
The Lebanese need to Have free elections, and start fresh from a clean slate.

As someone said, "fighting for peace is like f*cking for virginity".

This is simply not true at all - Countries have fought to provide a period of "peace" for centuries and centuries.

Where evil is....that evil from time to time must be confronted and taken out (killed if necessary).

Standing up and fighting evil most certainly can bring peace -

We are helping bring freedom and self-worth to a region of the World that for far too long denied its citizens either! - This is making the World safer - The WOT is most definitely making the World safer - No one willing to be intellectually honest can deny this -

Sryia will be invaded... though people will be surprised to find it will be an Arab army that does it.

We have a plan... and its working almost too good to be true.

OK, MOABs in tehran, wait a day, if the syrian secret service is still in lebanon, THEN, MOAB's in damascus. I'm flexible and the order of detenation is not as important as the fact of detenation.

You are probably correct on what would help cause U.S. military action against Syria - But we are a long way off from any type of large "boots on the ground" operations involving a war with Syria -

I'm sure we have some hot pursuits taking place over the Syrian border from time to time (now) - But we do not want any type of large military confrontation with Syria (Not that we wouldn't take care of business with them....we certainly would....but our Military is not ready for the follow up assignments that would be asked of them in that Country).

Getting Iraq up, secure and running is our sole large concern right now (with regard to any possible future actions involving Syria or Iran) -

Syria is aclient of Iran and Iran would not permit the WMD to be given up in the Bekka Valley.
