The current administration in Washington, doesn't "trade" the liberty of people for expediency..
That was the Carter/Clinton-Gore/Kerry-Kennedy brand of cowardly short sighted diplomacy......to mimic the French/German brand of diplomacy..
There is a new Sheriff in town, and he will stare down or shoot down the enemy..
Semper Fi
I thought they bumbed the Chinese Embassy on purpose.
Al Douri, he is in Syria also.
The plot thickens if Syria really turned this thug over. They apparently have plead nolo contendre that they did Hariri. The Israelis are saying the Syrians were behind the bombing in Tel Aviv. I was thinking this morning when I woke up that they had a major ass kicking coming. This really changes the equation. It could throw a big kink in the insurgency. So now do we restrain Israel from responding to the terror?
Pardon my cynicism, but I think the Iraqis were running low on millions to pay to the crooked Assad government for protection, so were no longer useful to Syria.
I agree that there is a great new sheriff in town. He not only is cleaning up the messes from liberal administrations, he is also cleaning up is father's messes. George Bush Senior allowed the massacre of the Shiites in Iraq after the first Iraqi war and George W has just given the Shiites their freedom. George Bush Senior allowed the Syrian air force to crush the last Lebanese resistance as a quid pro quo for Syria's nominal representation in the coalition that defeated Saddam in the first Iraqi war. I hope George W helps Lebanon earn its freedom.
Very interesting. Changing dynamics...Kerry defeated, France & US cracking up the heat on Syria, the elections in Iraq making it 'easier' for Assad to hand over Iraqi Baathists & save face in ME. Puzzle is who offed Hariri.
