SAUDI 'SOLDIER' BY STEPHEN SCHWARTZ IN Alexandria, Va., on Tuesday, a 23-year-old Northern Virginia man of Saudi Arabian background named Ahmed Omar Abu Ali was charged with conspiring to assassinate President Bush. Abu Ali and his accomplices are accused of plotting to kill the president by gunfire or a car bomb. The indictment also spells out such criminal activities as assisting and receiving support from Osama bin Laden's band of murderers. Abu Ali was extradited to Virginia after many months in a Saudi jail. What's most remarkable about this case is the degree to which this would-be assassin is a Saudi creation. In 1999, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali was the valedictorian for the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA), a K-12 school with campuses in Fairfax and Alexandria, Va., that is directly controlled by the Royal Saudi Embassy in Washington... But Abu Ali is also a familiar figure to U.S. law-enforcement officials and terrorism experts. In mid-2003, federal authorities shut down a Northern Virginia a network of born Muslims and American converts to Islam, headed by convert Randall (Ismail) Royer. Known as the "paintball jihad," the defendants in the case were supporters of Lashkar-i-Taiba, a violent Wahhabi militia fighting against Indian authorities in Kashmir. They practiced for jihad by playing paintball in the woods, went to Kashmir to carry and use weapons, and then tried to explain away their weekend activities near Washington as harmless fun. In April 2004 Royer was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Schwartz was on FOC this morning.
Americans have the right to say: Enough.
We have said "enough" yet nothing happens.
Look at the murder of the Coptic family in Jersey City. "Enough" also applies there. But it seems another white-washing is underway.
The question is "when is 'enough', 'enough' for our government."
Just hang him.
"The U.S. government has the duty to roll up the Saudi-Wahhabi hate conspiracy in this country"
It's long past due
whatever became of the big bust they had over in Merrifield on the Jihad center there, does anyone know? very near my house. Falls Church is a hotbed of jihadists.
Blah blah blah blah blah....
Do you ever do anything besides whine? Just curious.....
In case you hadn't noticed, this time you're busily whining about a terrorist-related arrest. One might almost conclude that the gov't is actually pursuing terrorists. Perhaps you should take up flower arranging?
Talk about your hotbeds of diversity, Northern Va. is loaded with Islamics, Viet Namese , Koreans, Aztec Indians Hispanics of every sort. You name it , they got it.
Bite me, D!ckhead.
Nothing Gracie?
Look at the murder of the Coptic family in Jersey City.
And what makes this such a big deal? Could it be that it's because this sort of thing just doesn't happen all that often?*
*once is too often.
Sadly, I never heard of this expression, so I had to Google it. Found this:
Published: New York Evening Mail (July 10, 1910)These are the saddest of possible words: "Tinker to Evers to Chance." Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds, Tinker and Evers and Chance. Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble, Making a Giant hit into a double- Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble: "Tinker to Evers to Chance."
So I take it to mean that we just scored a double play?
I believe Dark Skies is referring to some of the incidences mentioned in previous threads.. you may have missed this:DS: But it seems another white-washing is underway.
Valin: Could it be that it's because this sort of thing just doesn't happen all that often?*
When the authorities deny terrorism.
(By Daniel Pipes, who comments "I have cited thirteen cases here and provide information on further incidents on my weblog. Why this repeated unease acknowledging Islamist terrorism by the authorities, why the shameful denial?")
And: Who Killed the Jersey City Coptic Family: Robbers? Islamists?
The article over at jewishvoiceandopinion.com is worth taking the time to read thru.
See above post.
Bump for later.
I saw you on Fox and Friends. That was a good analogy that you gave. IMO, Bush has to very, very careful whereever he goes because to many people hate him.
It is the sheetheads that pose the biggest security threat.
Actually, I expressed a very low opinion of the "Who killed..." article, yesterday. You can read the thread.
Sorry about that...you caught me before my second cup...But my whining does include a hope for more action in Jersey City.
How did you know I'm a flower arranger?
"Famous FR poster, "retb" actually expressed a very low opinion of the "Who killed..." article, yesterday. You can read the thread."
Developing...
My delivery is a day late!
What happened to MY flowers?
Sigh..... Whining, stomping, and now pouting. It's just not pretty, DS. I suggest you stop digging.
Sorry ma'am...skunk cabbage doesn't flower every day of the week...
Might be a while...still digging.
You may need to change to your after-shave, you seem to be attracting blow-flies.
You're killin me...what is a 'blow-fly?" Pic please, Freddie!
You know I attract all kinds of nuts. (OK, takes one to know one and birds of a feather...Hah).
You know you're having a dull day when you find you are excited to see even idiots (no, not you...the blow-flies).
I have an interesting pic to send you. But I have to go...er, borrow it from someone else.
Should it be rolling around like that? I demand NASA to stop that immediately!
Allah say, "you are getting very sleepy...and angry. Just watch the wobbly moon. Do you feel the need for Jihad?"
Allah should be so lucky as to be a wabbit.
It's against forum rules to carry "incidents" from thread to thread.
Check the main page.
Check the main page.
I am trying to find rule you mention and to further define what is meant by "incident" from thread to thread but might be overlooking it (on Home page). Any help would be appreciated.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Where's that horny goat when you need him?
"Hey there, Madam...that is a no parking zone your right front tyre is touching."
Watch out for blow-flies.
Don't jump threads - If you get involved in an argument in one thread, it's considered poor manners to restart the previous argument in the middle of an unrelated thread.
http://www.freerepublic.com/help.htm#guidelines
In this particular case, there were articles by Daniel Pipes and others that spoke to the frustration among many in the nation as to the perceived lack of "clear speaking" regarding various events pertaining to the war on terror.
I would wonder instead what kind of manifestation of poor manners it is to troll from thread to thread in search of possible (hopeful) violations against such prohibitions of bad manners.
I don't mean you, Howlin, but no one likes a tattletale. They are always exercising the worse kind of manners. What kind of small mind is it that runs to the teacher when an ever so small breach of good taste "might" have occurred.
Well, I think that summarizes my perspective in this tea pot tempest.
Don't go gettin cute on me...you know I can't resist cats.
I think you misunderstand... when I wrote "incidents" this morning, I was referring to the crimes etc mentioned in the articles posted and the thoughts of their authors, not arguments on those threads (if there were any).
Oh, you don't; then who?
What kind of small mind is it that runs to the teacher when an ever so small breach of good taste "might" have occurred.
I didn't run to anybody except the people involved.
If I had, I would have hit abuse on your #9; but I'm of the mind that people's post like that should stand so others will be able to see the "manners" on display.
Ok- I'll risk it (change of topic).
My brain has difficulty ever wrapping around the whole kid-glove treatment the Saudi's get- no matter what. I seem to recall we don't get an enormous amount of oil from them- but obviously many other countries do- plus we do a lot of other business with them. So I've surmised if we really got tough with them- the ramifications would have a negative effect on the global economy- hence our economy.
It simply doesn't make sense to treat them with such deference when they are subsidizing the Hate America mantra...
Oh...I assumed a much smaller person actually tattled to you. But you are saying it was you. That you were that little person.
And I guess you didn't notice that I also apologized to the person who launched the first volley of personal attacks. And I presume you didn't follow the whole thread.
I don't usually recommend life-style changes. But, in your case, I'll take the risk: if you could lighten up some (OK, a lot), I think you might have a future as a commedienne. But first, you must stop taking yourself so seriously.
Are you under the impression that people can't read threads they aren't pinged to?
Why would somebody tattle to ME? I'm perfectly capable of reading threads myself.
And speaking of "little persons," your number 9 qualifies you are one, whether you apologized or not.
Like I said, let it stand. People will see who has the "manners" here.
But, School Marm? What is ill-mannered about "duck heads."
It'll take someone of your sophistication and knowledge of, well, adult things, to tell me what is wrong with "duck heads."
