I agree that it is going too far to compare the 'Rats to Hitler's Nazis to the extent that it brings with it conotations of death camps and genocide.

However, the left has for decades compared conservatives to the Nazis and most MSM mentions will invariably refer to the Nazis as "far right." There is a need for people to realize what Nazism actually stood for and it was national socialism, government seizure of private property and the elimination of basic freedoms (speech, religion, assembly, bearing arms, press, etc.). Hitler used the "pro-German" angle as a rallying cry, but this was secondary to his true endeavor which was worldwide socialism controlled by a strong central government. It is this "forgotten" history of Nazism/fascism that is conveniently overlooked by the left today, and it is, in fact, a description of them.

If we remove Hitler's calls (and programs) of racial extermination and stick to his political agenda (as put forth in "Mein Kampf"), we will find distinct similarities between his politics and those of many in the DNC.

It was an icepick and Trotsy's place in Mexico was VERY
highly guarded because Stalin nearly succeeded in a
prior assassination attempt. Mercader, incidentally, was
released about 20 years later. Trotsky was very bright
and his doctrine of "permanent revolution" still has its
followers whereas Stalin's doctrine of "socialism in one
country" is now as defunct as the Soviet Union. As long
as we're applying metaphors, why not call Dr. Dean
"Dr. Mengele"?

Actually, Trotsky was killed with the "pick" end of an "ice ax."

Dean will lose more voters than he gains for the party.

Well, they do advocate socialism, and they advocate it on a national basis.

Just sayin', ya know?

But referring to them as outright Nazis is indeed a bit over the top. Are they liars, hypocrites, and traitors? Yes, absolutely. But Nazis? Naaah.

I have read on FR before that there is a list of dems in congress that do have their names on a socialist party list--I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure that I have seen in on here in the past.

You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!

It's called the "Progressive Caucus", and they are members of an organization called the "Democratic Socialists of America".
