"The practice would fall under the "fake but true" category."

Ahhh, the 'Dan Rather' practice!

Thanks. You are correct, it is the same photo, one looks to be turned a little and a closer shot.

"The practice would fall under the "fake but true" category."

Since photos elicit emotions on a deeper plain (if plains can be deep) than common reporting, one can only wonder how much has been passed off as true before the internet age. The pros may have to be forced to become professional.

The practice would fall under the "fake but true" category

Since when is Rather working and CNN

CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC.................They're all interchangeable.

Just like CNN's photos nuclear reactors from rogue nations, once you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Danny....you can't hotlink Tripod hosted photos. It's a pain in the ass, but that's their rules.

I went ahead and blogged this story. Tried to give CNN the benefit of the doubt, but it's still sort of egregious.

I'm not sure this is a big deal. N Korea has cut itself off from the world. If we had a pic of their site we wouldn't have any question. Was CNN saying these were actual photos? If so, we have something. If they were just posting a photo to show what a nuclear plant looks like, we don't. What they said in the story in reference to the pics matters a lot. I'm hoping we have something, and I hate to be skeptical.

I am certainly not one who likes to cut slack to the liberal CNN, but did it occur to anyone here that maybe they just linked to the wrong picture? It happens all the time, where a picture is incorrectly used, even in newspapers.

How proud they must be!
The mainstream does "news" the way
Picasso does "art" . . .

Yeah, exactly my thought. That's why I gave them slack. IT can easily happen and the guys posting the stories on the website are not editors. They are flunkies who have been hired to do content publishing (not content writing or editing).

I have yet to see a valid link that shows the NKorea article with the Iran pic.

The only link has been to the pic itself.

Is there a link to the NK article with pic of the reactor?

It's in the photo gallery on the N Korea article page. You have to click through a few pics.
