IIRC, even if she emigrates to Canada, she will still have to pay U.S. income taxes. The only way not to pay taxes is to renounce your U.S. citizenship, which then unleases a whole new set of massive tax bills from the U.S. These laws were passed right after people like John Dorrance from Campbell Soup renounced their citizenship to avoid paying large estate taxes when they died.

Hi Ivan, I completely agree. They would save time by just keeping their bags packed and booking that return flight. I'm just in the midst of making the popcorn in anticipation of Chretien's testimony in the ad-scam inquiry (which should cost the libs a few more votes at the very least)! ;o)
