f only she would changes her glasses, she almost has a Tojo thing going on now.

ROTFLMAO!!

I don't understand this current fashion trend of women going out of their way to find these tiny, ugly glasses...they're most unbecoming.  I suppose, however, that it's considered a 'feminist statement' to wear ugly glasses in that you're saying " I can make it with my intellect...I don't need visual enhancement."

The trouble with this witch is:

1.  She doesn't have any significant intelligence to point to.

2.  She doesn't have a preexisting pleasant appearance to enhance.

I'm not sure why the major networks are giving her airtime....she actually serves as a tremendous recruiting tool for Republicans   :-)

"This blue finger is a sign of incredible courage on the part of the Iraqi people," House Majority Leader Tom DeLay said after the speech, noting the paint stays on for a week in Iraq.

Well, heck. Democrats are just starting to vote a week after the election. Just ask governor-select Gregoire.

Did you mean "dissolved" not "solvent?"
Although I personally prefer "solyent."
At least dems would be good for something!

Only RATS would find a demonstration of democracy comparable to Nazism and "digusting."

Janeane my love, go to hell.

What a sad, bitter, small-minded woman.

Before I knew about her politics, I just used to think she was cute and sometimes funny. Now a little older and wiser, I have to figure out how to sanitize that part of my brain!

Janeane Garofalo

Many Americans have, and many more have supported them and their families. So, I think that showing solidarity to those in Iraq who braved danger to go out and paint their index finger purple by dipping a finger in ink is appropriate. You may not wear a purple heart to show your solidarity to a soldier, but you would tie a yellow ribbon and display that wouldn't you? Kind of similar in my book. Don't be so pathetic to think that the sacrifice of one American does not affect us all, and the results of those sacrifices can not be shared by all Americans who support the cause.

Iraqis and Americans will now and forever be siblings in these things called freedom, liberty, and democracy. We are and shall always be in the same family of Nations that others such as Japan, South Korea, Germany, France, Great Britain, Australia, etc. etc. have joined. The power of democracy (read U.S. democracy) will become more and more evident in the coming years with Iraq and Afghanistan.

These two successes will possibly make the necessity of war against Syria and Iran null when the bug spreads and those people see that freedom, liberty, and democracy can be theirs as well.

We can only hope. And continue to support and SHOW SOLIDARITY with the people of Iraq and Afghanistan.

It's really sad to see what's become of Janeane. She walks around virtually picking fights, looking for "issues" everywhere - her "feelings" are sticking ten feet out from her body, just itching to be outraged and insulted - so much so, that casual, innocent comments or actions most would not notice become huge issues for her. She's the kind of person, that, if you hold teh door for her, she'll be offended, and if you don't, she'll be offended. She wraps herself up in moral outrage, you can watch her pull it tighter around herself whenever she's on a show, getting more tense and wound up and agitated.

She started out kinda goofy, cute (to me) in a nerdy kind of way (she has beautiful eyes, behind those ugly glasses), and she used herself - a neurotic, wanna-be brainiac nerd who's uncomfortable with herself - to create a semi-funny stand-up comedy persona of a neurotic, wanna-be brainiac nerd who's un-comfortable with herself. She was funny on the Ben Stiller Show, the first place I ever saw her, and was a regular on the stand-up circuit, she's part of the extended-family of comics including Dennis Miller, Denis Leary, Margaret Cho, etc... She even had her own HBO Comedy special.

Then, she moved into movies, playing - you guessed it - neurotic, wanna-be brainiac nerd who's un-comfortable with herself parts. A few brief flashes, like Copland, of being able to play serious parts, cameos here and there, an obscure but amusing one with Denis Leary set in Ireland, the usual indie-cred roles and teen flicks like Reality Bites and some of Ben Stiller's projects - and the big push, "The Truth About Cats and Dogs". Charming, well written little flick, she did a great job in it, and it got fairly good reviews - even with Uma Thurman chewing up the scenery.

Soon after that, I saw her on a tv talk show, bitching about "selling out" and having to starve herself to placate the old men who run the business, just completely bitter about Hollywood, ranting about it as the host tried to get a few compliments in edgewise about her role in 'Dogs and Cats", snarling about everything...and it's been like that ever since. I think she got a taste of fame, and the attention scared the living heck out of her, and she's been hiding behind this wall of venom and hate ever since. Before, she hid behind a wall of self-deprecation, neurosis, wit, and shyness, now she wields her issues like a gladiator wields his sword, surrounded by lions.

I read the book "Live, from New York", the history of SNL, and her brief tenure there described in the book is ugly, tense, all she does is complain and accuse everyone of shutting her out and not giving her parts - she as much admits she went in with an agenda. She comes off as someone who *cannot* enjoy life at all, everything is a political issue or agenda, that she spends all her waking moments either demanding things or pushing people away by being nasty. She never has solutions or ideas, all she does is complain and criticize.

Ever since, it's been the shrill, demanding, pompous and self righteous Janeane, and it's getting uglier as time goes by. George Bush could reveal tomorrow that he's solved world hunger, cured AIDS, found the cure to cancer, and she'd find a way to twist it into an attack on women (and by extension, herself). She acts like Dubya is doing things specifically to attack her personally. She was on Hannity, and was simply unwilling to listen to anything but *her* point of view, babbles so fast she trips on her own words (signs of psychosis?), and is utterly unwilling to allow anyone to say anything even faintly positive about George Bush or Republicans. She would NOT lighten up or enjoy a joke. There's never any warmth in her voice anymore, it's all shrill, cold, accusatory declarations and frantic, pissed off rants.

I'm predicting an Anne Heche level breakdown for her, followed by a stint in rehab (or two or three). I had a fondness for her back when, I have a weakness for nerdy girls, and I can't believe the woman she started out liek ended up like this.

That Rush: ya gotta love the guy!
