that is the part that bothers me......it is like groups can get on and say almost any BS they want on either side and the candidates don't have to say "I approve of this message"

But the monster that is government is devouring more and more wealth of the productive class. The demos and RINOs will do nothing to reduce it.

You think George Bush would have said he approved of the Swiftvets message? McCain Feingold is clearly unConstitutional. Even George Bush stated as much as he signed the bill. So much for the Oath of Office and the Holy Bible upon which he swore the oath.

"Protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America".....remember that part? I reckon George Bush had his fingers crossed when he made that oath.

of course not......but there are limits to some things like yelling fire in a crowded theater......I don't think free speech includes millions of dollars that go towards some of the lying BS like MoveOn.org put out that is so flagrant it muddles the picture so much that no one knows what the truth is........that is all.

Yes, it's an issue.

But if we demand to know who gave how much the average American can than make in informed decision.

I agree with McCain on this one issue but I"m open to other suggestions.......
---

Did the campaign finance reform bill they passed stop money from entering into politics? No, it had the opposite effect, more money then ever went into politics.

It is tyrannical to restrict the spending of an individual citizen. He/She should be able to give unlimited money to whoever and whatever causes they desire.

The ONLY sure-fire way to get money out of politics is to restrict the power of government. If government has no power besides the basic rule of law, then there is no reason for citizens to feel it advantageous to donate to the campaigns of politicians in return for special interest favors that often hurt their (the donator's) fellow citizens.

We need to shrink the power of the federal government. This is the best campaign finance reform.

McCain, R-Ariz., Feingold, D-Wis., Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn., and Rep. Martin Meehan, D-Mass.,

Well isn't that a nice foursome of donkey's and RINO'S.

IMO, just another four perfect examples for term-limit's.

Trent Lott hit the nail on the head when he said that the money was going to groups and not the political parties. They really want the money sent to the political parties. This is totally unconstitutional.

You don't know much about the founders, do you? Political speech deserves more protection not less. MoveOn put out lies, they didn't work. SwiftVets put out truths and sank that lying sack of F'n Kerry.

Let's see were gonna keep sewer money out of politics. That should be easy. Everyone will agree with that. And while we are at it let's tell both parties to stop fighting and get along with one another. Maybe we can all sing kum by yahhhhh and play the guitar.

Hey, I think I'll run a pool on that.

Reply to me to name the state and the date where McCain goes wacky in 2008! I'll save the responses.

My pick: he goes batshit in Arizona the day after the Arizona primary.
