Gravity is an Infidel plot!

No, I think those diabolical Joooos invented gravity to keep us all down. Without them I'd be weightless! ;)

What stood out to me was the phrase:

UN-sponsored school in Rafiah, in Gaza

But I guess we have them in America as well.

Honestly I'm suprised this type of thing doesn't happen more often.
These people initiate celebratory gunfire when someone car alarm goes off.
Whenever Arafat was on TV there was always somebody popping off a few rounds with joy.
Arafat says "Death to the Jews!," celebratory gunfire.
Arafat's dies, celebratory gunfire.
Somebody remembers that Israel still exists, celebratory gunfire.
I'd bet half the deaths blamed on the IDF come from birthday parties and baby showers alone.
What a world.

I agree - though, as many have noted, this sort of idiocy isn't confined to the Middle East.

I suppose it really comes down (nyuk nyuk) to probability and statistics. Do this in a rural area with no one else around but yourself and the odds are pretty slim the bullet will 'return to sender'. But doing it in a densely populated area means there's a good chance it's gonna hit somebody or something.

Did not Mahmud disallow the display of weapons by civilians? How come the ban is not enforced?

On its way down the air resistance would slow the [vertically shot] bullet to the maximum speed of its free fall in air - something like 200-250 fps. More than enough for a good welt, but not for much more. It seems that some of that celebratory gunfire must have been done in more horizontal direction.

It's just not a celebration without gunfire and couple of innocent deaths.

Their "religion" so sexually represses them, that publicly firing their penis extension into the air is the only form of orgasmic release they ever have.

Haag calculated the performance of the .30cal 150gr M2 ball round fired by Hatcher as a maximum altitude of 9330 feet and a round trip time of 57 seconds which is, for all intents and purposes, the same as Hatcher's observations.

As a point of interest, a velocity of about between 180 and 360 f/s (±) is needed to penetrate skin. The wide range comes from the non-uniform strength of normal skin tissue. Projectile shape has no statistically significant effect on the penetration. However, one could still be seriously injured if struck by a falling bullet even if it doesn't break the skin.

Those interested in learning more about vertically fired bullets may want to obtain a copies of Hatcher's Notebook and the Haag article.

That said, in Des Plaines, IL 4 July 1982 (?) a young girl was killed by a FALLING bullet. A friend lived on the same block.

For pete's sake. This happens over and over again. Haven't these people ever heard of **BLANKS**??

Oh well. I suppose the solution is to ban guns. (yawn...)
