The PURPOSE of the Party, if elected, will be to provide a "CHOICE" to all the residents and voters of BC to begin the diplomatic negotiations to become the 51st State of The United States of America. This will be accomplished with the "VOICE" and input of all the citizens of British Columbia and their

I'm from BC. Trust me, you don't want 'em.
Would they Be like CA North?
Maybe we could trade for them...How about Massachusetts?
I think this would be alot more likely to work in one of the conservative western provinces. BC is more like the US west coast... it's likely to prefer canada.
Geez, BC is beautiful, but you'd have the same political problems you have with Washington -- leftists in Vancouver outgunning Conservatives in the interior. Wouldn't it work better with Alberta and Saskatchewan? Straight up trade for New England and a West Coast state to be named later.
Whatd'ya think boys, shall we let 'em in?
They're liberals. Only if we get Alberta at the same time.
Like in the 1850's: one slave state, one free state.
Pretty much. If you could split BC in 2, and take the inland half, that would be fine. But taking Vancouver would be like adding another San Francisco.
Perhaps just merge British Columbia with Alaska. That would allow Alaska to become one of them "continental" states..
Kinda foggy on letting BC in BUT we(the US) should definatly let and encourage Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia to COME ON IN! They would be a REAL asset to the US as the 51, 52, 53 and 54 States.
And CA, and WA and a first round draft pick!
BTTT
Nova Scotia ? That's like another Maine, we don't need that.
BUT they are conservative!
2 more liberal Senators???
forget it....
dont want PR to be a state either fer the same reason.
It would be worth it for Alberta if we just gave them back Wayne Gretzky.
How about Canookifornia,
or NoFrenchachusettes.
Add the yukon and NT to that deal and I'm with ya. I'd like to be able to drive all the way to alaska, firearms in the vehicle, without crossing into canadian territory.
The way I'd do it is this...I'd divide alberta and saskatch into two states each...north and south alberta...and north and south saskatch. Yukon would be one state. and the territories would just be US territories...no statehood just yet. Then I'd hand over ME, VT, NH, MA, and WA with the option that they could reapply for admission to the good ole USA if they so choose to do so at some point in the future, and more importantly...if they meet certain minimum qualifications.

"BUT they are conservative!"
are you sure about that.....how about something to back that up......
I spent sometime in Alberta hunting and fishing. They really are against gun control, etc. What is your advice to us on the Alberta joining the USA?

The Atlantic provinces do elect some of those, but that's not "Conservative" by our definition, they'd be uber-RINOs. Only Alberta is the safe bet for letting into the US, even Saskatchewan and Manitoba are iffy (and as pointed out, BC would only work if you cut the Vancouver region out). The Atlantics, IIRC, are often heavily subsidized, with Newfoundland being the absolute worst. NS would be the best of the lot, but that's not saying much (plus I doubt they would like the fact that if they were admitted as a state, they'd only get 1 Congressmember, as they have the exact same population as Montana).
Isn't 'HongCouver' the biggest city in BC?
We have enough problems w/o taking on some of Canada's.
Apologies for redundant url post.
Caveat emptor anyway...
Alberta is a red state for sure.
But they would get 2 US Senators.
LOL. I wondered if that might be the case.
Thanks for the inside scoop.
"There will no longer be a need to waste millions of business and tax dollars on the labeling and printing of French on everything manufactured and imported into BC. Compulsory French language education in our BC schools will be eliminated. "
How 'bout that?
I was stationed at Whidbey Island, Washington in the '80s. Vancouver is thought of as the MORE LIBERAL version of Seattle.
Nova Scotia ? That's like another Maine, we don't need that.<<<< OUCH!...guess thats what we get when we elect a RHINO "hash slinger" and "milkmaid" to Congress..You gotta admit though..They've come a long way Baby!
How right you are 3M. Not only do people not understand the process, they don't even see it coming.
Yeah, we'll take BC, Alberta, AND Saskatchewan. TWO red provinces for one blue. Whatcha think of that?
DOn't forget Alberta.
And those 2 Senators would probably be more like Lincoln Chafee rather than Rick Santorum.
Maybe we can accept everyone except the land within 30 miles of Vancouver.
Your proposal is very fair, and also ensures a perpetual GOP Congress. The District of Keewatin alone ought to mean a couple more solid Conservative Senators, representing about 15 people and a million caribou. Any idea of the political leanings of Baffin Island? This could really work out well.
I suppose you'd call this planck ''Max''?
Maine went down the tubes after Ed Muskie was elected Governor in '55. Have they had a halfway decent Governor since Jim Longley 30 years ago ? Beautiful state, I've been there, but the politics make one cringe (let's not forget that ME was once the territory of Massachusetts).

We elected President Polk to take our border to 54°40' but he wimped out.
Vancouver can go to Washington and then we trade the whole thing to Canada. Right now I'm on the phone to Manitoba, trying to arrange a deal for Illinois.
Yeah... you got me there!
Keewatin Conservative ? I thought Nunavut and the territories are solid NDP areas. They make the Libs look sane and well-adjusted by comparison.
Any move that would make Quebec even less relevant is OK by me.
F*** BC, Fu** Canada. Let them die because of muslim terrorists, not us.
Wow, how neat !!
I say let them and Alberta in........then we can all go to the Calgary stampede in the great state of Alberta
I was just guessing. I figured anyplace that cold and unpopulated would be Conservative, plus it has a cool name. Maybe the District of Franklin would work better?
