Q: Do you support conserving energy?

A: I’ve spoken about an energy policy that would include conservation tax credits that the Republicans have blocked. The administration has put forth an energy policy that we couldn’t get through that Republican leadership that my opponent is part of. We need a new Congress. I was pleased when the president did release some oil from the reserve. So we have work to do and it needs to be led by Democrats who understand that we shouldn’t be beholden to big oil.

Stands for clean air and funding the EPA

I have worked on behalf of children’s health and the environment, I’ve stood for clean air and worked in the administration to deal with problems from asthma to trying to figure out the possible environmental causes and correlations with breast cancer, but my opponent, on the other hand, stood against funding the EPA to the extent that was needed to do the job that’s required, was in the forefront of so-called regulatory reform, which would have gutted our environmental bills. Ratify Kyoto; more mass tranist

As Senator, I will work for New York to get its fair share of federal mass transit funds and to increase the amount of money that goes to transit funds. We in buffalo ar e a victim of such mass transit funds- just becaus ethere was money to spend, they built a subway no one uses.
The politicians freinds in the construction companies got lots of money, but main street was close and all hope of city renewal died.
