Because that wouldn't work. You make it free market and ONLY low-wage, foreighn labor will have any kind of job.

My comment was this.
Some estimates have the illegal population at 20 million now.
This number is far in excess of most state's populations save two.
If we did not have the current illegal problem and tomorrow morning you turned on Fox news and saw a report that 20 million illegal foreign nationals entered the country overnight you can be damn sure the majority of Americans would be screaming for something to be done.
Why is it any different only because this invasion happened over a period of time and not all at once?
Spare us the bogus "multiculturalism".
And you live your life based on what the government calls the 'prevailing wage'? PW is a completely socialistic creation. Have you considered other causes of wage stagation for such a wage? Modular homes? SIPs? Concrete homes? Package homes from the lumber yard? Owner/Builders? Framers and carpenters are becoming exstinct, and its not because of Pedro from Mexico.
The fact remains: End welfare and there will BE no jobs for these people to come looking for.
If it's allright for CBG to post an article like this and claim it's the true face of ILLEGAL immigration then I should be able to post an article detailing the criminal exploits of illegals and make the same claim. That it is the true face of illegal immigration.
And even you cannot deny that they are criminals if they are here illegally.
Look up the word ILLEGAL. Employers hiring illegals are CRIMINALS. You aren't talking about free markets, you are talking about BLACK MARKETS.
We'll, there's so much more to this great country that makes it attractive than it's welfare system. It's still the land of opportunity, despite those that want to slam it's doors closed. However, it would be interesting to do away with welfare for ALL and watch the hate filled anti-immigrants have to find a new straw man to beat.
I guaranty you if they paid $15 an hour Us citizens would be lined up around the corner to get those jobs. But for $7 or $8 they say no. Illegals are suppressing wages, that is why they are let in.
Sure, just equalize the Mexican and American standards of living. Just reduce America to Third World level. Great solution. Why don't you run for president on it ?

End welfare and other benefits that they take advantage of and take away any ability for them to get work and they won't come here.

The house that are being built in my town are not prebuild anything. They are 2000+ square foot custom homes. I pass by the subdivisions every day. And I have seen the wages lowered by illegals, that is why they are let in.
