ditto that. It really makes it hard for the people coming over her legally . The politically correct does not want to use the term "illegal aliens". These people should not be referred to as immigrants. I feel that until someone gets tough with illegal immigration laws , start deporting them as they are caught, fining companies, shutting them down, these people will continue to come over. It pretty sad to hear that these working conditions still exist in this country . They are breaking the law by coming over hear illegally

This employer should have his business shut down for public health and safety reasons.

it is a BAD thing that non-college educated Americans should earn above Third World wages.

It is also a BAD thing that college-educated Americans in the IT industry should be employed at all.

Thats great, isnt it?

We have a woman 'who wont stop coughing' and could very well be carrying TB working in the food production industry.

Are these criminal aliens getting any medical screening before coming into this country? Of course not, and all these diseases like TB and malaria that we have managed to eliminate from our country will return in the bodies of these criminal aliens.

Thank you greedy criminal industries who employ these other criminals. I hope you save your nickels for the medical bills.

The Feds need to cease the property of criminal aliens and those who have profited by their criminal employment like they do drug king bpins.

Then this stuff will dry up over night, promise.

"It's not jobs Americans don't want to do. These are wages and working conditions Americans don't want to accept," says Ira Melman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, an opponent of lowering the barriers for undocumented workers.

Figured someone would focus on that nugget. Spoken like a true liberal union democrat, Mr Melman.

In 1983 my father was a journeyman carpenter and a independent contractor. He paid himself from his small company the prevailing wage for a carpenter $15 an hour. Now in 2005, 23 years later with the influx of illegals in the construction trades the wage is $12 to $15 an hour. Illegals are not used to do the work we will not, they are used to suppress wages on lower level jobs. This reason is why I would love to see the borders shut to illegals.

Because the very people that SHOULDN'T be contributing to the gene pool are having 6 kids apiece, but the people who will raise their kids right only have 2 or 3 at best...

Well, now that we know how the game is played, I suppose we're free to steal stuff that sells for a price we won't pay. What's good for the goose, eh?

I've said it before. I'll say it again: The problem is not poorly controlled borders. The problem is a welfare system that encourages lazy Americans not to work.

Much of the inducement to hire illegals is not simply the wages. You point out, rightly, that the benefits are dropped into the social service net. One of the reasons health care benefits are so high is because on average, hospitals get paid for something like 30-40% of the ER work they do.

An employer who hires an illegal and pays him or her the same amount they do a legal employee saves 15% Social Security tax, workman's comp, insurance, and doesn't have to worry about paying unemployment benefits for the employee if they file for unemployment two years later. They also don't have to worry about being sued for phantom back injuries or perceived slights or unfair treatment.

I just started a sole proprietorship business (no employees), and within two weeks of starting up, I got a letter from the state telling me if I hired anyone, I'd have to pay unemployment compensation and workman's comp. As best as I can figure, if I were to hire someone and pay them $30,000, they'd have to be able to generate around $50,000 in revenue for me to break even.

The notion that illegal immigrants will do work that Americans wont is a bald faced lie to dupe Americans into accepting more illegal immigration.

Then how do you explain the woman in this article? I'm still waiting for them to do a profile of Suzy Suburbanite, the electrician's wife who works part time in this same pig factory to save money for her kids college fund.

The welfare aspect is only one part of it. The fact that employers find it easy to employ illegals is another. The fact that our government allows illegals to collect social benefits is another....

Shall I post a few stories about illegals gang raping women or maybe robbing some people?

LOL I've seen that website from ALIPAC or whatever it's called. What is its/your obsession with gang rape?

Quote: Americans won't do the work at the price paid.

That's right because the illegals have driven down the wages. Construction jobs in my area used to pay $12-15 hour. Now they pay 8-9.00 because the hispanics have come in an worked for peanuts.

I don't have an obsession with it, but apparently your beloved illegals do since they are accused of being involved in it so often.

Yes indeed. ALL illegal immigrants are gang rapists. Why do you think they come to this country in the first place? It's for the white women.

And what's wrong with Melman's comment? Do you want your children working in such unsafe conditions for such little money? I sure don't. The key to ending this exploitation is *NOT* to make it legal, but to end it. However, the sun will rise in the west before this adminstration does that. "Guest workers" will be just as exploitable as illegals, only *legally* exploitable - and with as many bad consequences for Americans working at blue-collar jobs.

But that's how the market works. Other people are willing to do the job cheaper, so companies hire the cheaper folks. When you go to buy something, do you always go to the most expensive place in town or do you shop around a little bit?
