However the evidence turns out, the only complaint I'll have is if NJ doesn't have the death penalty for the people who did this- whether "hate crime" or not.
I think pretty much everyone's point about hate crime laws here is that the liberals dreamed this stuff up to make themselves look better and give themselves an imaginary issue to champion, so if it's such a wonderful idea they sure as heck better apply it to EVERY case, not just their pet cases like Matthew Shepard and all that nonsense. Here where the evidence is even *stronger* that it *is* a hate crime, they are probably unwilling to admit it. Doesn't matter to me, but then they should shut up about 'homosexual' hate crimes et al.

Muslims, who consider all non-Muslims to be 'dhimmi', that is, second-class citizens. They must pay special taxes and tolls. They are denied the normal protection of the law. They are barely tolerated in their own land.
And that is by the endorsement of their highest religious doccument, the Qu'uran.

I'm sure in their search for the culprits that the police are following up on the obvious clue that there may be a religious motive.
I suspect in NJ if you bind someone and slowly kill them you don't get the death penalty even if you "hate" them.

No, it appears that mrsmith and I are agreeing about very little. I am coming to the conclusion -- based on this even and many many others -- that Islam is not in accordance with our societal paradigm here in America, and that the conflict will be too great to do anything but one of two things:

Of course. I guess I didn't see where either one of you said anything incorrect. While I wouldn't want 'thought crimes' (which I agree is the next step down the slope from 'hate crimes.') - I also think Islam is, in its orthodox form, a hateful religion. Those that think they're Moslems and practice a 'peaceful' version may be doing just that, but it is as many Muslims understand it not a doctrinally pure form. That's fine with me, for now, but what happens when one has practiced Islam so long, and down the road they discover through much study that their religion (which ostensibly has brought them so much 'comfort'over the years in its watered-down form) actually requires that they kill those who disagree? Do they then go on to reject all they have lived for up until then and embrace something else? (some do...yes) or do they take that step of 'faith' and take a life - or many lives -- for 'Allah,' thinking that it's just the 'next step' on the road to salvation?
I think the idea of hate crimes is silly- how do you commit a real *crime* without hating or at least despising your neighbor who you are committing such crime against? But if the libs want to play that game they'd better notice that there are haters of Christians out there too, and they themselves are often the biggest offenders.

LOL! You might actually want to read the words of our founders when it relates to religion. One thing they declared loudly and often was that the survival of our freedoms depended on our remaining a Christian society.
Take one look at islamic societies and tell me where freedom lives in the midst of the islamic world....could it be that the two are not compatible???? Islam is slavery, hate and death, and you can not co-exist peacefully for ever with it. It always will at some point decide it is strong enough to begin killing the non-muslims around it as is commanded in the koran and as it has done century after century until somebody puts it down so brutally that it scares it into stopping for a while.
The left has let muslims pour into America in the last 30 years for one reason and one reason only, they wanted to de-Christianize America, they also know with out Christianity so go our freedoms.
There are some ideas in this life worth fighting for and some ideas worth fighting against. If we wish to remain free we will fight islam and not allow its roots here or we will not fight, we will submit or be killed leaving our grandchildren slaves. The choice is simple.
One thing is certian islam and our freedoms can not co-exist.
