Basilisk,Fusion,Applewin.
Bunk. Now with the Mac Mini, the last excuse for owning a Mac is GONE. At $499, you can put a paperback sized computer in your backpack and look down on the poor Microsoft PC tower sloths who are literally chained to those clunky PC's in their homes. Once you own a Mac, you swear you'll never go back to being a devotee of Bill Gates.
So, because I don't own a Mac I'm a devotee of Bill Gates?
I better e-mail him and demand my back pay!
Sheez!
Recent devotees of a fitness lifestyle, or those who've just now quit smoking, are the worst proselytizers out there.
Like you said: Geez, do what you want, but if I nod blankly at your sermon, drop it already.
What am I supposed to do with the machine once I take it out my backpack?
"Joan M'Benga, ethnic looking clip-art model"
LOL
BTW!
He the hell want a 'paperback' size PC to surf the net and do serious work?
They are 'toys' for taking notes and checking e-mails.
Just what I need. Another reason to screw up my eyesight trying to read a 4 inch screen.
Yo, MacMoonies! Already got a religion; don't need yours.
Digital hockey, digital door stopping, digital paper weighting, the uses are virtually limitless!
Sorry!
Should have read 'Who the hell wants...'
You don't even know what machine we're talking about here, do you?
It has no screen.
The old Apple IIc was pretty compact as well - but it had a keyboard integrated into the small box.
While small boxes are "cute", the big ugly box allows for easy expansion.
Go back out to your car to get the monitor, keyboard and mouse, then find someplace to set it all up.
And that Mac that quit working on you wasn't a doorstop, it was an iDoorstop.
No Screen?
What does it do? Talk to you?
Yeah! And $499 for a 'non expandable' machine isn't cheap either!
Unless you like prying off surface mount chips and resoldering 'updates'!
Apple Macs: Objects of intense frustration
If they were giving them away for free, I wouldn't take one. In fact, I'd like to throw mine out the window.
It's warm, purrs softly, and wuvs you.
These days, at the Vast Spodefly World Headquarters and Bunker CompoundTM, I have 6 computers, one of which is a Mac, and it is rarely used except for audio editing using Pro Tools. Unless you are in graphics or a/v editing, PC's are a better bet to get real work done.
