Jim Rob, could you please raise the number of pings to 100?

I've been bugged for months at the limit of 20 when I look up who has pinged me or responded to my posts. It used to be 250 was the limit but now it's 20 which is absurd. 100 should be the minimum.
The election is over with it's heavy traffic. Why is the limit 20? Is the server overburdened if this is raised.
Thanks

There's also a problem with the number of search items returned, but he's looking at that problem.

Actually most of the problem comes from being on ping lists ... some I never asked to be on.

Actually most of the problem comes from being on ping lists ... some I never asked to be on. Why don't you post a "Please stop pinging me" thread like Arthur McGowan did? That would create opportunities for mischief and fun for days.

"Hi Annie - what does "10" mean?" It's a symbol used in mathmatics to denote a value. It can usually be found between 9 (nine) and 11 (eleven).

We did that all while he was over there. He's no fool and his dad is a superconservative, and a hell of a writer who has had the ear of his congressmen & reps for quite some time.
Thanks for caring!

If you have pings, you are using the wrong grade of gasoline. If your computer pings even on premium, have your mechanic retard the timing slightly or richen the fuel mixture. And don't "Floor" the mouse to accelerate rapidly through a thread. You will save gasoline that way.

While you posture like a Kennedy or Boxer or Jesse Jackson with your "concern about Pings," you totally ignore the plight of downtrodden Pongs. Pings are the elitists who conspire to paddle Pongs. Hugh know what I mean. Are you a troll? I'm series about this.
And I'm Ponging my unofficial Humor Pong List....

Better yet Jim, consider implementing a method by which we can elect to allow or not allow being put on ping list.
I find that though well intended, individuals put you on a ping list and you have to go through the process of asking them for removal.
Why not a box one can click that prevents others from adding ones name to a pinger's "broadcast" list?
Responding with comments to the post and comments by others is certainly fundamental to the FR forum - but being a recipient to an unsolicited ping broadcast is not always welcome.
Limiting the pinger's list to 20 seems a good thing for it discourages abuse of ping list - encouraging the pinger to be very selective in who is on his list.
However, I will be happy with FR regardless of what you decide on the ping issue. Thanks for FreeRepublic!

Sorry! I misunderstood your post. I thought it had to do with pingers who broadcast to every tom, dick, and harry they think are remotely interested in what they are interest in.
