Clinton, always a believer in the TennCare plan, said, ''What happened to TennCare is a classic example of expecting one state to go out alone to try to handle health care. Ned Ray did this at a time when we were making real efforts to control the costs of health care. But the economy grew faster. No state can handle this alone, having an unprecedented number of people dropped into the system.''
Clinton said that whether TennCare is modified or dropped, ''Ultimately, I believe the nation will have a medical coverage plan that will look like TennCare. Ned Ray blazed a trail there.''

Wasn't the Democratic governor of TN going to dump TennCare because it was such a fiasco?

State targets potential fraud in TennCare
By Ashley M. Heher Staff Writer
TennCare officials are receiving thousands of responses to the 12,500 letters mailed to enrollees warning them that records show possible fraud against the program.
"Weve had quite a bit of response," said Deborah Faulkner, TennCares inspector general. "Weve had phone calls, faxes, and the mail has been quite busy."
Three months ago, the state kicked off its first massive antifraud campaign in the $8.7 billion program, which provides health care to 1.3 million Tennesseans. State officials sent letters first to enrollees who appeared to have earned too much money to qualify for coverage in the state health insurance program. Two weeks ago letters went to 9,300 enrollees with "questionable" prescription drug usage.
State officials said their records show some enrollees filled as many as 227 separate prescriptions in a three-month period.

Being from Maryland, I dont know anything about Tenncare except what I read here, but obviously it is in trouble.
Clinton is probably right one day we will have something similar to Tenncare-- a broke busted , unfixable health care system. At least thats what the Dems want to give us.
What makes Clinton think that if a State cant afford it the Federal Government can?

Trial ballons flying everywhere; if only we could make TinCare a worldwide UN sponsored program no telling how cheap we could make healthcare.

There was no health care crises until Hillary decided she wanted government to take over our national health care. We can't have a Socialist/Communist society with people being responsible for themselves, you know.
The left wing trial lawyers were sent out to do their dirty deeds, and the crises was created.
Tort reform could easily lower the cost of health care, and chase away the litigating minions.
There's no reason for the government to get involved in medicine.
The poor have Medicare or Medicaid already. The rest simply prefer not to pay the higher prices.
Dump the left wing trial lawyers, and eliminate the manufactured crises. Problem solved. Just say no to the Socialists.

We already have a national version of TennCare. It's called Medicaid. It's just not so expensive or all-inclusive like TennCare.

If you think health care is expensive now, just wait until it's free.P. J. O'Rourke
Yep, Hitlery manufactured her health care crisis, allowed no congressional insight into her commission and conferences and meetings required to produce an elevenundred page plan that became known as Hillary-Care. This form a person who was neither elected not vetted through the Senate for an appointment. That should give everyone a good idea of what a Hillary admin would be!!!

Ned Ray did this at a time when we were making real efforts to control the costs of health care. But the economy grew faster. A growing economy and real efforts to control costs, it doesn't get any better than that, yet it is still a financial quagmire that failed.
Liberal socialism runs on other people's money and it always fails when they run out of other people's money.

The Democratic governor of Tennessee is using Tenncare as another excuse to "reluctantly" push for an income tax.

Or how she can best implement her own brand of horror health care.

Hillary, being a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist, which would also make her a huge fan of Vladimir Lenin, is echoing in every pore of her being the old Lenin adadge:
"The key to Marxism is medicine."
