Footage of Japanese TV from Beijing showing 7 North Koreans escaping LAST NIGHT over tall BARBED WIRE FENCES (some barefoot on the wire and all apparantly without gloves) to get into neutral territory in Beijing, in a Japanese children's school, to safety and the West. Shades of the East Germans getting out of Berlin through the wire or over The Wall.

Chinese Communists put up extra security afterward and are trying to prevent more escapes by North Koreans, currently underground in China, to Freedom.

Look at the fascist Red Chinese guards (in their Nazi-like uniforms) hoping to catch some additional defectors the next day and send them back to North Korea to certain execution, or at least discourage repeated attempts:

Check it out. A short, but dramatic video.

Yes.
However, the terms of collapse could be anything from 1-3 more years from now. One must be patient here. But first, yes, all of these things must come.

Read the post again.
Noboday said "neutral Chinese territory".
I said "neutral territory in Beijing". Which is what the Nihonjin Gakko is. Japanese territory...same as an Embassy.

While I sympathize with the defecting North Koreans, you're a little extreme in your description of the Chinese guards (and uniforms) - just doing their job. At least they're attempting to maintain border security, and some law & order with illegal aliens in their midst. Makes me a little envious...

If the Chinese looked the other way or allowed it this time, there'd be hordes climbing over the fences of every foreign school/embassy/company demanding help/assylum. Hordes crossing the border... sound familiar?

They are posted to keep North Korean political refugees and defectors out of the Japanese school. I won't make excuses for them. Sorry to be about 'extreme' about Freedom. I doubt if any of those who went over the wire last night on that video, if you and I sat down with them, would think of me as 'extreme' in my thinking or description.

Yes.
Indeed.
It reminds me of the hoards of Czechs, East Germans, Hungarians and Poles going out of Eastern Europe in 1989/1990 when various nations dropped their police state border system design to HOLD PEOPLE in, and the 'hoards' left by bus, auto, hitchhiking, whatever. Almost like the 'hoards' of Koreans stream constantly south from North Korea in 1953.

They want freedom! Not a job. Maybe the chicoms need to face the freedom issue, instead of their side effects, like these poor people. This can't be compared to the hordes from our southern border, except the part about our elites not dealing with the corruption issue to the south of us, leaving we taxpayers to deal with the side effects.

A delicate balance, isn't it?
Am I pro-North Korea? No. Am I pro-Chicom police tactics on it's citizens? No. But as I said, if the Chinese looked the other way once, the situation would explode on them, and they know that. Democratic principles are taking place in China, but not always in our Western sense and not overnight. I've been there and done business there. As long as you don't stir the pot, you generally get left alone and things are gradually progressing.

At the end of the day, I am pleased that nearly 995 people, according to my research, have seen or accessed this thread nearly three hours after it was put up here today on FR; and out of that, I am sure many saw the video (the reason it is slowing down).
I'll settle for that and glad word of this got out regardless. Thanks for your opinion sir.

doubt it. they did this quite often(but had shoes on)
when I was stationed on the DMZ in 88-89.
The NK's are funny. They used to float propaganda balloons
over with pen and tie sets on them to try to convince SK's
to defect.Like yeah,I'm going to move to your hell hole
for a ugly polyester tie and a crappy pen. Now if it were
an El Rushbo tie and a Cross pen, maybe...
While I was there I never heard of a SK going North.
At least not willingly.

I wasn't sure what you meant, but the cameraman was located on a public street in Beijing, filming the fence that surrounds the Japanese School for Japanese nationals in Beijing...from the outside. It may or may not be near the North Korean embassy. Most of the embassies are in this one part of Beijing, somewhat east-northeast of Tienanmen Square.
(I actually had been in the DPRK embassy many many years ago doing a free lance report).

The reporter did not say where the school is in Beijing. However, I obtained a photograph (of the school's entrance). It is located on #6 West Chiang Dai Street in the city's Chang-an District (off Chang-an Boulevard). It is run by the Embassy of Japan.

A new video just discovered:
http://www.bcast.co.jp/cgi-bin/yahoo/news.asx?cid=20041217-00000170-fnn-int-movie-001&media=wm300k
This one with a different Japanese TV network. The reporter went out to show how high the wall and barbed wire is around the Japanese school compound in Beijing that the defecting North Koreans had to get over last night. And, another video of the escape attempt (fleeing into the Japanese school). (report about a minute long)
The report closes saying the North Koreans had memos on them in English that said:
"S.O.S. We are North Koreans. We are fleeing to freedom. We wish to go to South Korea. Please help us!"
Also the report said the North Koreans were being debriefed/interviewed by Japanese Embassy, which noted they all had North Korean accents (dialects).

The report said the note in English read:
"S.O.S. We are North Koreans. We wish to go to South Korea. Please help us!"
The Japanese video report did not mention "We are fleeing to freedom." in the note (although that's probably why they want to go to South Korea). It also said there were 2 men in their 30s, 4 women, and one girl among the 7 who scaled the fence.
I wonder who was present in the middle of the night (with lighting) to conveniently videotape these people climbing over the fence. Rather odd...
