I think it's designed to put so many people into a "Capital Republicanism" category, which is more of a political party designation than an actual ideological bent regarding republics, for example.

Hehehe...let me tell you, I work/live in Omaha and I have several people working for me that live in Iowa and are ISU Cyclone fans. The banter back and forth is hilarious. No one ever misses an opportunity to bash the other.

Those Cyclones can be brutal...but then, if I had to check the air in the tires on my house everyday...I'd be brutal too. ;o)
