Hi Free -- slight correction -- it was DAVE Clark. But lots of great songs -- "Catch Us If You Can" and "Because" were two more.
You think you're old - I still remember when, (while still a child, of course) Guy Lombardo and his orchestra were on TV on New Year's Eve.
Crystal Shanda Lear
Like Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne?
Sad news. Prayers for his recovery.
Doh! Senility showing. At least I'm slightly healthier than Dick; pray for HIM not me (beyond redemption).
He would consider Imus wet behind the ears.
He's also done a good job of keeping his skeletons hidden in the closet. He will make veiled references to "...always cover(ing) your ass".
He did some good in pushing rock and roll but has also done harm to some peoples' careers.
Sad news. I hope he recovers.
Now something you won't find on Drudge...
someone just tried to attack Ellen DeGeneres at her show taping at NBC Burbank.
Clark Kent! Now there's a phoney name if I ever heard one.
His secret identity is Superman and he goes out into society in his "Earthman" costume.
What happened? That's horrible. I hope it wasn't a crazy right wing nut.
Always glad to exchange greetings with another DC5 fan!! Just thought of a few more -- "Bits and Pieces" and "Everybody Knows" and "Any Way You Want It," not to mention covers of "Over and Over" and "Do You Love Me." Air-hammer beat greetings to you.
I dont know exactly...NBC Security collared him and asked for backup from Burbank PD.
He's almost as old as Chuck Berry.
Dick Clark was a replacement for Tony Mamorella. Tony was a replacement for Bob Horn. The original name of the show was "Bandstand". It was at WFIL studios at 46th and Market Street in Philadelphia. The changes in personnel were due to improprieties by Bob Horn.
FYI: Not Funny.
Probably in the early 80's just like me!!!!
for some reason this makes me think of Phil Spector. What a contrast.
That guy has been around forever! Hope he recovers quickly!
The only thing that bugs me here is when the article states that since he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, he has become a spokesman.....reminiscent of Michael J.Fox and Chris Reeves. You never hear about these people devoting their time to any major health issues until it hits THEM! Then suddenly they are all gung ho for research and funding etc. for THEIR disease. Makes them seem a bit selfish to me. I could be wrong, just my perspective.
