To cite but one of many examples, take the widely held liberal slogan "War is not the answer." It is pure irrationality. War has ended more evil than anything the left has ever thought of. In the last 60 years alone, it ended Nazism and the Holocaust; it saved half of Korea from genocide; it kept Israel from national extinction and a second Holocaust; it saved Finland from becoming a Stalinist totalitarian state; and according to most of the people who put "War is not the answer" stickers on their bumpers, it saved Bosnian Muslims from ethnic cleansing.

"members of the audience (usually liberal women) will say they are offended by something I said, when what they really mean is that they don't agree with me. "
No, what they really mean is that they are offended--personally insulted-- by anything short of robotic, head-nodding agreement.
It's all just part of the narcissistic syndrome, the underlying dynamic of that little known but often practiced subspecialty of: White-chick psych(Cross reference: Dowd, M.)

Never met one with a college degree in business, law, economics, or engineering... I believe that liberals are incapable of logic, cause and effect, reponsibility, accountability, and telling the truth.

Liberal American Indian spokesmen and other liberals regularly tell us how offensive Indian names of sports teams are. The latest polls show that most Indians have no problem with such names, but liberals are still offended on their behalf. To make the point of how offensive the name "Indians" is for the Cleveland baseball team, one liberal caller once asked me, "How would you feel if a team were named 'Jews'?" I told him that it would be a great day in Jewish history -- for 3,000 years, Jews have been looking for fans.A Non-Offensive Ping!

I doubt the liberals are actually offended, but more likely are using it as a tactic against people and ideals they are opposed to. This tactic is rooted in the (generally) American desire to not offend unintentionally.
Personally, using the liberal dictionary entry, I have been "offended" numerous times... often while watching TV or a movie. The non-stop homo-agenda, radical pro-abortion stance, and anti-family/pro-infidelity propaganda being fed to the unsuspecting people of this country (yes, adults as well as children) is "offending" even my religious views.
Even the long news cycles spouting some misdeed from a catholic priest gets annoying... when compared to the same length of coverage given to school teachers abusing their students. (I would imagine there are FAR more teachers/tutors commiting these acts then the number of priests)

a major defining characteristic of modern-day liberalism is the ease with which liberals take offense personally and/or on behalf of othersIt's all lies.
They are not offended, it's just a club they use to beat a kindly and tolerant people into submission.

And they have interesting ways of picking and choosing what offends them. For instance: Enron offends them; Oil For Food does not. Proxmire offends them; Toon does not. Abortion bombers offend them; Islamists do not.
Interesting.

(People who are easily offended......OFFEND ME!)
To: kattracks
I agree that liberals are easily offended, but the critical
issue is to understand why.
Before one can understand liberals one must accept the essential puerility of liberalism.
It is the mindset of the child.
The following are a few generalizations about the traits of a child. Children are given to emotional and irrational responses to events and circumstances.
Children are sensitive and easily offended.
Children crave security and love fairy tales.
Children imitate others and covet the things possessed by others.
Children want the best of all possible things and refuse to make choices or be accountable for their actions.
Children lack wisdom and discernment. To their shame liberals refuse to mature, to put away childish attitudes.
Our problem is that we have to deal with these children in adult bodies, many of whom are well-educated, articulate, intelligent, and affluent.

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of good stuff that is worthy attention. I keep separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson, Lee Harris, David Warren, Orson Scott Card. You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).
