FEDERAL JUDGE RULES THAT OHIO RECOUNT WILL GO FORWARD IN ALL COUNTIES
Green Party presidential candidate David Cobb today expressed his satisfaction with a ruling by a federal judge taking jurisdiction over a Delaware County, Ohio lawsuit and denying the county's attempt to stop the recount of presidential ballots in that county.
"We are very pleased that the judge recognized our right to a recount and that the recount will go forward in each and every county in Ohio," said Cobb.
The judge also provisionally granted the motion by the Kerry-Edwards campaign to intervene in the lawsuit in defense of the position of Cobb and Libertarian Michael Badnarik. Although the judge did not agree with Cobb that the recount should proceed on an expedited basis, the Cobb campaign is confident that a full and complete recount will take place.

What a waste of time and money. You would hope that some Ohio democrats would protest against this.
Looks like this is going to be an election procedure everytime the Republicans win.

Can we recount the 1960 election between Kennedy/Nixon while we are at it? There are some specific counties in Illinois and Texas that need to be investigated.

I've been afraid this was going to happen. They're going to pop chads and glom voter intent.....all votes for Bush were supposed to be for Kerry.

Now a judge is going to have to decide whether the machine count was more accurate than the hand recount. You can bet they won't be the same.
To: cake_crumb
Realax folks, the only place they might pick up votes are in the 93000 over/under votes. In Fl 2000 only 7% had a "discernable" presidential choice so that's 6510 @ a liberal breakout of 70%K 30%B = 2564 additional votes Kerry max. Fogetaboutit

To: diamond6; All
I believe the White House is not worried at all. They were fully prepared for the Dems to do this. Bush won Ohio and the Dems know it and no amount of twisting and screwing the vote can change that. The Dems look pathetically desperate and this is going to ruin any chance they have in 2008. The American people were sick and tired of it all in 2004 and the Dems have started it all over again and now the American people are going to be sick to death of the Dems again.

I don't think its a hand recount. Also, the over vote is about 96,000. So if comrade Kerry got all the over votes he would still loose.

We need a recount in Wisconsin, just to run up the score. Take away the fraudulent "rock the vote" ballots and Bush wins.

Can we recount the 1960 election between Kennedy/Nixon while we are at it? Recount the 2000 Missouri Senate race while we're at it too.
Only Republicans are supposed to concede graciously.

The most meaningful bit of information is that Cobb is nothing but a proxy that Kerry's using to overturn a legal election while keeping his dainty little hands clean.

I don't think its a hand recount. Also, the over vote is about 96,000. So if comrade Kerry got all the over votes he would still loose. If Kerry gets the Ohio electoral votes he will win won't he? I think Bush will still win the popular vote but not the electoral vote. That's how Bush beat Gore.
To: Brilliant
Now a judge is going to have to decide whether the machine count was more accurate than the hand recount. You can bet they won't be the same Actually the statistics of this will be very interesting. I assume that machine votes are by precinct and that if the hand count is off by more than a few votes that it will be checked. My bet is that the machine count is very accurate and that the hand counts, if repeated when there is a discrepancy, will converge to the machine value. In any case the variances between hand count and machine count will be interesting to see, particularly if we get to see them at the precinct level.
And it might shut up those crazy DUers.
To: JonDavid
I don't think this recount is to try to find a win for Kerry, as much as it is a way to rob President Bush of a 'mandate', if they can find a closer win/lose ratio.

Bush has over 112,000 votes (120k?) lead over Kerry at this point. If EVERY one of the 96,000 over votes went to kerry, he'd still be a looooser.

Jesus Christ makes His appointed return on Judgement Day. As he makes the rounds, and the Earth is torn asunder, he comes across a group of people huddled in the ruins of a courthouse. "What are you guys doing?" He asks. "Can't you see that the world is coming to an end? I've got to get you out of here!" An elderly woman looks at Him, slightly annoyed, and says, "We're still trying to make sure every vote was counted for John Kerry!"

They can't 'create' new votes.
They can only count what was already counted, or discounted.
