After leaving the service, I took a job in ultra-sound repair in Northern CA. It was a small business, and the CEO/President was a fellow pro-life Catholic. I can't count the machines and service calls we provided free of charge to crisis pregnancy centers.
The only thing we needed to be careful of was ensuring that the equipment was functioning properly. An inexpensive machine, or a machine out of calibration, can produce fuzzy, grainy images that can make the fetus appear just a blob, completely unlifelike. This type of image could sway the mother into thinking it really is just "unwanted tissue."
My boss was also active in Sacramento politics, trying to push through legislation requiring an ultrasound before each abortion. The intention was that the mother would be swayed by the image of a beating heart and other discernible features. I've moved to PA since, and haven't heard how the legislation was going...

Once in a while the thought occurs to me that every other person I see thinks it should be legal to chop babies into little pieces.
It's a sobering thought.
You are correct when you say abortion is not a religious issue. However, you cannot divorce anyone's position on the matter from their metaphysical viewpoint.
Monsters. Absolute unmittigated monsters.
I daresay this woman is not fit to have children, and that her triplets should have been birthed, confiscated, given to loving parents, and the woman forced never to have sex again.
I don't think there is any other species that wants to destroy their offspring as much as mankind. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to prevent pregnancy.
I'd be pitched off this site if I expressed my reaction as colorfully as the remarks made in the article warrant. Creative combinations of biomechanically doubtful streams of profanity are a hobby of mine.
Thanks for posting that link. Definitely worth the visit!
Ping.
This is sick.
What I don't get is how people can't see where this is leading to. You have pretty much unrestricted euthanasia in the Netherlands, and how long till that comes here.
How long till some one thinks that the old pamphlet "A Modest Proposal" is a real blueprint? How long till they start up the camps and the ovens?
When they first legalized euthanasia in the Netherlands, they said it was only for those who specifically requested it. Then they started killing those who couldnt ask for it themselves, calling it mercy killing. Next, they proposed lowering the age of euthanasia to 12 years old or even younger. Now, they just kill, then tell the government and expect the government to pass a law legalizing their actions.
and how long till that comes here.
In my 'guesstimate', about 10 more years and here's my theory. To date, 40+ million have been aborted, removing them from the tax rolls. As baby boomers, the generation that legalized abortion, move into retirement, they will increase demands on an overburdened Social Security System. Since those monies will be coming from abortion survivors, it seems only fair that they may very well turn the tables and legalize euthanasia. Somewhat of a poetic justice, don't you think?
You're right, but I think he meant to say "It is NOT a political issue, it is a moral issue," which is an accurate statement, as is "abortion is murder," and as is "All of us by virtue of our not being incarcerated or killed in an illegal act to defend the unborn, are willing accessories to murder." I think anyone who is pro-life..and not a hypocrite, would agree with the stark reality of that statement. Think about it.
Exactly! I am the lone conservative female at the software company I work at. Recently, after Bush's re-election, a couple of lib females (anti-war, anti cap punishment, ...) at work confronted me, all in a tizzy about an administration appointee who is pro-life.
One of them challenged me about my supporting the war in Iraq, saying that the Pope is against war. I tossed back that, first of all, I'm an atheist, so I don't much care what the Pope says, and second, I don't see pro-abortion libs caring about what the Pope says when it comes to abortion.
I'm telling you, the female libs are on a warpath about abortion, to the exclusion of all other issues. Look for major battles over Supreme Court appointees.
And as far as pro-abortionists denying the violence they do, I remember happening to tune in to the old Phil Donahue TV show one day several years ago. His guests that day were children who had survived abortion. There was Mr. Liberal walking around the stage cradling a sleeping baby in his arms - a little girl in a frilly dress, who was missing an arm. The abortionist had chopped off her arm and assumed he'd gotten the entire fetus. By the time the mother discovered she was still pregnant, she opted to continue the pregnancy. As far as I know, Phil and his wife are still for "reproductive rights for women."
Today, we have the United Nations!
Almost all centrists and rightists are not willing to face what an advocate of abortion is. A person who will kill their own child, their own baby, will kill another person even more lightly, without a second glance, without pity and without remorse. The Left are murderous thugs.
