I have some British relatives who could plausibly get a Christmas card from Tony Blair. They are Jewish.

If they are friends or aquaintances of the Blairs and occasionally are able to speak with them, my hope is that perhaps you might be able to convey to your relatives the fact that the vast majority of Americans deeply appreciate the great sacrifices that so many Britons have made in their marvellous support in the war on terror. If the Blairs mainly hear only the chatterings of the leftist press, they may not fully realize the great fondness that we in America have for our British friends, and of our most profound appreciation for all that they have done.

Oftentimes I am concerned that people in high positions such as the Blairs and the Bushes may not fully appreciate how very very few people the mainstream press actually speaks for when it endlessly savages the brave folks in both of our countries who are working so hard, and putting all on the line in order to make our countries and the world a safer place.

I couldn't agree more. The irony is that it's usually white, middle class people who complain about celebrating Christmas. One local council tried to ban the Christmas lights in Birmingham once. I believe they had to U-turn when hundreds of Muslims, Hindus and Skihs wrote in to tell them to stop being silly.

Besides which, I quite enjoy being wished, 'Happy Eid'.

What's an Eid?

Why be baffled when you receive cards that make no mention of Christmas or the purpose of the Holy Day???
Christmas, sorry I mean YULE, was celebrated long before the Christian religion re-packaged it for their beliefs. For many people, YULE is a time to celebrate in nature and The Earth, not to celebrate a religious fable.

Blessed Be x
