Rush is wrong. When your party has no leader, someone can lead on cult of personality. Pelosi? No. Reid? No. Kerry? No. Gore? No. Dean? No. Hillary? Yes.
It would be brilliant to ease the waters from his destruction in the 2000 SC primary by picking Sanford.
McCain said his Mom is in her 90s, so he may have plenty of years left in him. I wouldn't be opposed to a Sanford run in 2012, though.
She makes Bill pee sitting down, so why not?
That's great. Never seen it.
If McCain picked Sanford as a Veep I'd be 1000 times more likely to vote for him...especially if some of Mark's fiscal conservatism and non-conformist ideas rubbed off on old McCain...
McCain is one of the only senators the least bit interested in cutting spending and he supported the first Bush tax cut. He was only upset that the GOP wanted to cut taxes and continue spending like LBJ would, too. Who here on FR isn't upset about that?
The issues with McCain are on other issues-- not fiscal responsibility. He's fine, there.
I know he's already OK fiscally, but Sanford has been among the most fiscally conservative anywhere.
This is all starting to feel like "Groundhog Day". I'll be very surprised if Americans don't turn away from a "Bush..Clinton..Bush..Clinton" scenario.
So sorry, Hillary! You're the odd man out.
"Bush-Clinton-Clinton-Bush-Bush-Clinton-Clinton"
That would be a bit much!
But, then again,
Hillary wouldn't mind...

Because... Hillary is OUT THERE, still.
