A nasty, repressive atmosphere isn't conducive to learning. It shouldn't have to be that way, but apparently in a growing number of schools it is. Those who can afford to do so, opt out.
But homeschooling is only done by intolerant racist christians. It is also very bad for kids. They do not learn to interact with other kids, let alone society in general. You people who think you can do a better job then public schools are a menace to society. You should have your children taken away from you and they should be raised by the village.
How are your children going to be good citizens if they are not subjected to the wonderful diversity and tolerance that the public schools are capable off.
Its true. Some people really feel this way. They scare me much worse then a homeschooled child.
If it's so easy to handle, why call the police in the first place?
My six year old isn't 40 pounds yet.
Neither of us has credibility to judge the police officer.
Wrongo!
Glock is the weapon of last resort. The Taser doesn't kill or do any psychological trama damage.
To all the disarmament experts here. Please explain to me the exact techniques used to remove a piece of glass from a fighting childs grip without allowing him to grip it tighter to cut his own tendons, nerves, and veins.
And you're not allowed to hit him (The obvious solution: nightstick to the wrist, likely to break bones) or Taser him, (no damage). Please enlighten me, exactly how do you do it???? Remember, any mistakes and the lawyers go after your job and house.
I agree, the police should not have been called
If I refuse to judge then I should not have the capacity. Nonsense, we make opinions based on information we hear everyday and make judgements.
How about grabbing the wrist preventing the child from using the glass and keeping the arms apart. This is a 6 year old child versus 4 adults and you say adults cannot subdue a child. When a child has sissors and waving them about wildly. A potentional danger to child and others, a mother will grab the wrist and force the child to drop the sissors. Same techniique.
Scissors will not hurt the child if he grabs them tighter. A piece of broken glass held tightly in the hand will sever nerves, tendons, and blood vessels, disabling that hand for life the instant the child tightens his grip. Which will be triggered by reflex with your method.
Hold a tissue gently in your hand, and have someone else grab your wrist while simulating a struggle and watch what happens to the tissue as soon as you try to pull away. You are correct in that the wrist is a possibly disabling target, but simple compression takes too long when you are trying to beat the time it takes a piece of glass to penetrate a childs skin.
An impact to the wrist can work, but it's a moving target so a slow, gentle strike won't work, and will provoke the same reflex grip tightening we discussed above. A fast strike, with a stick, to add speed and reach can work, but is quite likely to break bones.
I'm sure the Officer considered all of these, and considered the Taser as the least damaging, safest option.
No one here has answered me yet from my prior post, what is your superior technique to disarm this out of control child with a piece of glass, without lasting harm to him? If you don't have any experience in actual fights, you very likely are out of your area of expertise. Before telling me any adult can control an armed, enraged, out of control, 50-60lb child without anyone getting hurt, I have a 10lb cat I would like to see you give a bath with out protection.
For your info, I have 2 cats that I have given baths and medicine too, not always without some damge. However cats can twist like nothing else. I also have children that were quite difficult when young and had to struggle physically just to get them clothed. I have 2 dogs and a horse. I have been able to manage them all. Grab the wrist and force the hand open. There is a possiblity of danger and slices but an adult should be able to risk that. I only say that it is shameful that 4 adults could not disarm a 6 year old child unless with a taser.
