Diplomats: Iran Doing Last-Minute Nuke Processing Friday, November 19, 2004

Iran recently started producing uranium hexafluoride (search) at its gas-processing facilities in Isfahan, the diplomats told The Associated Press. When introduced into centrifuges and spun, the substance can be enriched into weapons-grade uranium (search) that forms the core of nuclear warheads.
Iran last week agreed to suspend uranium enrichment and all related activities in a deal worked out with Britain, France, Germany and the European Union. The deal, which takes effect Monday, prohibits Iran from all uranium gas processing activities.
But the diplomats, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Tehran was exploiting the window until Monday to produce uranium hexafluoride at its Isfahan (search) plant in central Iran.

Maybe we should develop technology that simply sends missiles off course to random spots around the globe. I guarantee the world will get serious about the Iranian threat in a hurry.

I can see it coming!
The US will have to clean out Iran by ourselves, because all the cowardly countries of Europe have a treaty with Iran, and gee, they can't break their treaty agreement.

They are playing the same game as the North Koreans. South Korea and Clinton did not have the gumption to do anything.
Watch the Israeli news in the near-term and you will see clues of the coming attack. If an Israeli or Israeli/U.S. attack is to occur, Israel will try to do everything possible to keep things peaceful amongst neighbors until attack time. For example, when two rockets from Lebanon came across the border the other day, there was no reaction at all.
The Hezbollah is trying to start a fight and Israel is looking the other way . . . towards Iran.

I sure hope all countries within the various ranges are comfortable with Iran having Nuclear ICBM'S.

1 to 2 B-52's loaded with 2,000 lb. guided bombs could make very short work of this facility!

Powell: US has intelligence that Iran is working to adapt missiles for delivery of nuclear weapons.
Washington Post adds: The intelligence was provided by a walk-in source in the form of 1,000 pages of apparent Iranian drawings and technical documents including a nuclear warhead design and modifications to enable Iranian ballistic missiles to deliver an atomic strike.
The warhead design is based on implosion and adjusted for outfitting on existing Iranian missiles. If confirmed, this would mean Irans nuclear-cum-missile programs more advanced than previously known. DEBKA-Net-Weekly reveals exclusively: The covert uranium enrichment facility that opposition in exile group in Paris accused Tehran of hiding from the UN watchdog is located in Nour in the Lavizan district of northwest Tehran.
To: MontanaMatt
Yep, the same game as the North Koreans. I seriously doubt that Israel will stand for the mad mullahs getting nuke capability and missiles that can hit Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. I wouldn't put it past the wackos in Tehran to have Hezbollah stir things up to try and divert attention.
To: TheDon
May God forbid! Though I'll bet dollars to donuts the Israelis will strike in some fashion before it gets to that point. They take radical Islamofascists getting nukes very seriously.
To: Convert from ECUSA
Exactly, the Hezbollah launched several missiles with the hopes of getting Israel involved in a crisis to keep their mind off of Iran. Though, it must be quite difficult for Israelis not to dwell upon the fact that a nation that announced its duty to destroy Israel with nuclear weapons is actually very close to acting on such thoughts.

These girlee men politicians we have here, and yes I'm talking about Republicans, need to take the reins off Israel. If I am wrong about unspoken constraints, then Israel needs to drop the PC and melt these "areas of concern" in Iran. Islam must undergo a reformation in short order, and if the West must be the catalyst, let it be now.

Has Israel taken delivery of the LARGE purchase of "Bunker-Busters" from the US a number of weeks back?
I had conjectured that if sKerry had won, Israel would attack and destroy Iran's Nuke Complexes unilaterally before Jan. 20, 05.
I heard Wolf Blitzed spew today that Israel has a two-year window before she would have to move on Iran's Nukes...I'm thinkin' no F'n way Israel can wait that long based on new info.
Questions:
Will Israel attack unilaterally?
Will Israel attack before Jan. 20 '05 or before elections in Iraq?
What level of cooperation might there be between Washington and Israel?
What Def-Con level might be in-store for the US in the near future?

In answer to your questions:
It appears that Israel should be in possession of some of those bombs by now. In fact, the U.S. probably has taken efforts to ensure that these bombs are in Israel's possession simply for this mission.
I had always assumed that the point of no return was in November as announced by an Israeli official back in October.
All intelligence indicates that Iran will have nukes by January. Further, the nuclear power plant being built by Russia is complete and could go hot any day, this would lead to plutonium, eliminating the need for uranium enrichment.
Israel is likely to attack unilaterally per se, however, Bush said Iran would not get nuclear weapons and so one must assume the U.S. will assist covertly.
Israel must act soon. Non Shiites in Iraq hate Iran anyway.
I am sure that Washington and Israel are working together closely.
Watch the U.S. sit tightly for the show. War games indicate that the reaction will not be pretty.

Dear God I pray for the people of Iran to rise up and throw out the crazed "leaders" of Iran before they bring the world into Nuclear war. This is the inevitable result of what is afoot. Surely, God will restrain the evil awhile longer and allow this evil to be purged out if Iran before it is destroyed and/or goes destroying!

What's Israel waiting for? Letting this go on too close to the wire could result in Iran developing a few nukes BEFORE the strike.

Israel has said Iran will go critical before the end of this year. Powell brought it up and put it on the table.
Israel needs our bombers help to do a thorough job on the numorous facilities.
A joint US/Israel mission is not impossible.

Why is it their responsibility, rather than ours? Sorry I don't see it. I don't see any adequate reason why we wouldn't lead on this. In addition to destroying as much of their nuke program as possible, we should blockade the country afterward. All these cowards trying to pay them stuff can't be allowed to profit them.

Your probably right. You know what would be even better...a joint US-Israeli operation.

I hear they are doing these programs under residential areas. We need to warn them they will be subject to bombing and the Iranian tyrants will take full responsibility for civilian casualties. We cannot allow them to continue on with this.
