So, you're saying that the folks at the Times don't really BELIEVE that things are economically going to hell in a handbasket? Given their worldview, I suspect they do believe it....and everything else they push....and even that their own poop doesn't stink.
These mental giants(sic) are supposed to be smarter than us "red" voters? Why do they think we3 re-elected our President?

According to a reporter I know at the Times, there are seven layers of editors that check or "improve" important stories, so there can be major delays in reporting the news. In fact, the news-story cycle at the Times is rumored to be just slightly shorter than the economic cycle, so sometimes they get out of sync -- and that's before considering the implications for political campaigns.
I just heard on the radio that the Index of Leading Economic Indicators has gone down for the last five months, hinting at a less-than-stellar economy in the upcoming months. Oh well...MUD
