Morford: Dear World: Sorry About Bush
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | Wednesday, November 17, 2004 | Mark Morford, SF Gay Columnist

Posted on 11/17/2004 7:16:05 AM PST by presidio9

It's a movement. It's a phenomenon. It's a Web site. Or maybe it's far more than that. No one can really be sure. No matter what it is, it's called sorryeverybody.com and it expresses, better than any outpouring so far, a sentiment that's omnipresent and palpable and still going strong, and every single Democrat and every single Kerry supporter and every single liberal of any stripe whatsoever probably felt it like a white-hot stab in the heart the minute Kerry's concession speech hit the airwaves and it undoubtedly went something like this:

Dear world: We are so very, very sorry. For Bush. For our bitterly divided and confused nation. For what's to come. Please know that tens of millions of us did not vote for him. Please do not hate us. Not all of us, anyway. OK, maybe Utah. Do you know where Utah is? Never mind.

See, not only is half of America still deeply dejected about the onslaught of Dubya Dubya II, but much of that half wants the world to know just how crestfallen we are, and just how awful we feel for inflicting Bush and his middle-finger foreign policy on them like a virus, a toxin, a nasty STD, yet again.

After all, we knew this wasn't no ordinary election. We knew how much was at stake, how this one represented a sea change in global attitudes, a dramatic upheaval and reversal of long-standing American ideas of cooperation and defense and restraint, ideas that BushCo has now mutated into a hollow, kill-'em-all faux-cowboy maverick attitude, an almost irreversible shift, mostly backward. Or downward.

But here's the genius part. Beyond e-mail, beyond blogs or radio shows or despondent letters to the editor or overly verbose progressively insulated Left Coast columnists

Dear Morford.... I hope every day of the next four years passes slowly. Interminably slowly. Like someone was drilling into a nerve without novacaine. And may each day be hell for you. May you suffer, and whine, and be overwhlmed with misery. And We shall revel in it.

In my opinion, this last paragraph takes the cake:

The site proves that countless Americans still not only care enough to apologize for our country's massive errors of judgment, for our blind mistakes, but also are concerned about the effect those mistakes will have on others. As such, these pictures are perhaps the finest and most honest expressions of love for one's country you can find. And if that's not patriotic, nothing is.

So let me get this straight Markie:
Apologizing for being American=patriotism

BUT

Performing your civic duty of voting (albeit NOT for Markie's dreamboat).=Evil Neocon Nazi Bush supporter.

Is that right?

Until morons like this one can go beyond the fantasy that the stupid or unaware put Bush into office, they are doomed to failure. He has to come to grips with the fact that he and other members of the "respectable press" are no longer in charge of where people get their news.

How much press time was devoted to Bush's National Guard Service?

How much press time was devoted to investigating the Swiftboat Vets claims?

How much time was devoted to portraying Bush as a moron?

How much time was devoted to portraying Kerry as an effete, snobbish rich guy that never showed up to his senate committments?

How much time was devoted to bad press for Laura and the twins?

How much time was devoted to that embarassment Teresa?

The main stream media devoted much of the last year trying to make a silk purse out of sow's ear, and they still don't know why they failed.

They will continue to fail until they get a clue.

DK

So it works out very nicely that it's the same half that likes to debase itself in front of others anyway.

Here's my e-mail to Marky Mark:

Yes, let's apologize to the world.

Let's apologize to communist dictators who slaughter their own people.

Let's apologize to the muslim theocracies (where you'd be one of the first they'd execute).

Let's apologize to people who hate Jews so much they can't stand the idea of one single tiny Jewish state the size of New Jersey.

Let's apologize to those countries in Europe who took kickbacks from Saddam on the Oil for Food program.

Let's apologize to jihadists who are even now continuing to attack Spain and Spanish interests in Argentina despite the voters' capitulation and the troop withdrawal.

Let's suck the d**k of every despotic regime out there.

Maybe then they'll LIKE us, they'll really LIKE us. Because it's so important to have the good opinion of thugs, thieves, bullies, fundamentalists, dictators, appeasers, the corrupt, the gutless, and the sneaky.

First Annual "We're Sorry" Potluck (satire)

Al Beril - Liberal Times, Greenwich Village
The first of what just may be many “We’re Sorry” potluck dinners hosted for everyone that the United States has offended or harmed in any way was held this past weekend in the St. Marks Place Community Hall. Organized by Luke Hamilton, the idea was to bring together all those who voted for Kerry to offer “dishes of apologies” to disenfranchised immigrants, foreign students, or people of the world in general.

“We wanted to do more than just feel sorry, we want to act on it and truly be sorry” explained Hamilton as he passed out organic falafel to a group of Iranian students. “If half of this country is bent on keeping that little monkey-weasel in office then the least we could do is show the world that not all of us are residents of, or treat people like they do in Jesusland.”

To show their flair for the global taste-test, volunteers offered a variety of dishes, many with descriptive tags. Among them were “Bush won now I falafel”, “Nu-cu-lar Noodles”, “Baba-Ganoush, I hate Bush”, “Bush Lied, and-I-don’t-know-what-this-is-but-it’s-Deep Fried”, and the ever popular “Imitation Fish & Chimps” (textured soy-protein patties in the shape of Bush with French fries).

One of the volunteers, Irma Bystrak offered her take on the dinner: “Bush has killed these people’s babies. We have to do this to show them not all of us are oil-grabbing empire-building hate-mongers. I believe unless we do more things like this, most of us won’t even be around to vote in ’08. He’s creating terrorists faster than we can cover up for him with events like these.”

We asked one of the visitors who refused to be identified, if he thought that an annual event like this would sway the world’s opinions of America. “There is no getting around the fact that all Americans are Zionist pigs. We will eat your food if you serve it, then kill you. If the food is good, we will digest first.”

Hamilton took a break from serving to sip some herbal concoction and give this final thought: “I am really proud that we have taken being sorry to a whole new level. Some people just use web sites, but we show how sorry we are by serving this sorry food. It’s here for everyone, and if we get our way, maybe by 2008, the other half of America will be sorry too”.

Shouldn't he be in some kind of re-education camp for homosexuals? Didn't the hysterical left say that would happen after Bush won?

Well, it takes time. First he has to eviscerate Social Security and let all the old people die, and also starve the school children. THEN, he can turn the nursing homes and schools into the re-education camps. Logistics, you know. And then of course it'll be hard to finance because there's the economic shambles that will result from forcing all the women back into the kitchen. The shoe industry will be particularly hard hit since all the women will be barefoot and pregnant... *sigh* so much to do, so little time.

The Mediots are working overtime to spin the "bitterly divided" talking point.

They even used a statical map which distorts the states based on population to "adjust" the USA to look equaly divided. (liars figure and figures lie)

We are not bitterly divided. This is a majority of americans who have no desire or love of democrat party principles.

If the leftists like mortford admit that they are in a group that is a shrinking minority then they can be marginalized even further. It also means lobists have no reason to pay money to anyone in their democrat (gay) party.

If you reaaaaly want to take an example from the past, when Reagan fired the PATCO traffic controlers europe gasped. It meant the USA was not going to take the road to a commie workers paradise. Now Europe et al are agast because Bush has shown they will not allow the USA to be the whipping post of the world.

What can one gay, out-of-touch-with-reality, walled up in SF, man do, but whine and wallow in self-lothing, fear, and ignorance? Morford is certainly the Den Mother of that troop! Now... we need something he didn't quite mention... closure.
