A Good Frenchman, REALLY!!

Fred Gion: A French cowboy? Oui!

I dream of life in Red State America

Since the re-election of President Bush, I've been reading on American blogs and newspaper Web sites that lots of you, particularly in the Blue States, are talking about leaving your country for more culturally hospitable nations, like Canada, or even my native France.

Well, I can be of assistance. I can even help one of you would-be expatriates relocate here to Paris. My apartment is on the market, because I don't like it here anymore! I want to immigrate to Red State America.

I mean it. I've just filled an entry form for the annual diversity visa lottery administered by the U.S. government. I've done it for the fifth time, and now the odds are on my side.

I'm not in a rush. I'm not running from anything. I've got a comfortable life here. It's just that someday, I want to marry and have a family, and I don't want to raise my kids in France, or in Europe. The hope of the future, as I see it, is in America.

No problem, and if the diversity lottery doesn't pan out for him again, he can go to Mexico and cross the Rio Grande like millions of other illegals. With his attitude, I'm sure he'll do fine in Texas.

Come on over, Fred, there's always room at the top.

But don't encourage those Leftist morons to move to France or Canada. We're still clinging to the flimsy hope that the French and the Canadians will come to their senses and give the morons the same message the Americans gave them on election day, and there are far too many morons in Canada and France already.

Instead, encourage them to migrate to places more suitable to their mental functioning. Cuba or North Korea, for example.

A novel idea for them is Devil's Island, off the coast of South America. They can probably get it cheap. There are plenty of coconuts and bananas to eat; they won't have to work. And there's lots of available housing. Exit transportation is generally restricted to coconut-float, but what does that matter? They might be able to arrange a sushi and cappuccino air-drop every now and then, and they can protest to their hearts' content.

Real estate prices in Texas are going to soar if this idea catches on--with all the influx from Europe and Blue-USA.

Young Msr. Gion should be on guard against Texas girls--I've heard they can put the hurt on you. I've also heard that there are more baptists than people in Texas--which is a good thing with all them Texan girls around!

I wasn't born in Texas, but I'm getting there as fast as I can.

Never thought I'd hear a Frenchman say that...
