(Bush41 said recently on Imus that he considers Clinton to be a friend. After that, I now consider Bush41 an enemy.)

He did not. I knew that, but for good measure I just read the transcript. Recant.

Well, I don't know what transcript you read, but I heard Bush41 say it with my own ears during a campaign-time appearance on Imus in the Morning. I was watching msNBC, and I remember turning off my TV in disgust after he said it.

I wanted to look you up and offer my apologies for disputing your statement of what you had heard. He does indeed say he considers clinton a friend.

Thanks very much. On many message boards, the posters don't even bother to correct the record. It's nice to see posters like yourself here at FreeRepublic who do care about accuracy. I think Bush41 has made more than one appearance on Imus in recent memory, so maybe that's what caused the mix-up.

Anyway, I made sure not to watch the lie-brary event today because I knew it would make me want to hurl several times over. Plus, I knew I could read all about it on FreeRepublic. It was a challenge to avoid the coverage, though. Several times, I switched the radio station when the news came on. As for TV, the only program I allowed myself to watch was Wheel of Fortune. Then I watched a VHS tape. But then I turned on The Weather Channel briefly only to see the anchors talking about how it apparently rained at the lie-brary event. They were about to show a clip of the impeached bastard himself, so I quickly turned off the TV.

As for Bush41, I think he's just too nice a guy to some people and is sometimes naive. I think that's what cost him a second term when he listened to too many Democrats and raised taxes after he said, "Read my lips." Plus, former Congressman Bob Dornan has talked about how Bush41 told him during the '92 campaign that Americans would never vote for a draft-dodger (Clinton) to be president. Well, we all know what happened. Also, I think Bush might've been a bit naive when he fell for Souter and nominated him to the Supreme Court.

Anybody who considers Clinton "a friend" is automatically an enemy of mine. It's like, "Who are you with? - us or the terrorists?" For me, it's, "Who are you with? Clinton or the decent people."

Thanks again for taking the time to revise and extend your remarks about the Bush41 quote. I guess he must've been testing out some of his lie-brary speech material when I saw him on Imus.
