NEW YORK -- A young man who told his family that he was distraught over the result of the presidential election was found dead Saturday, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, inside the gated pit where the World Trade Center once stood, authorities said. He was identified as Andrew Veal, 25, of Athens, Ga. Veal had worked for the University of Georgia's Survey Research Center, where the center's director, James Bason, said: "He was a great worker. And he got along well with everyone. Again, we are all at a loss at to why something like this would happen."

Sad, but it seems that many of the Kerry supporting crowd has some kind of mental problem.

Something I haven't though of.

It won't be long before someone else decides they can't live in this country under Bush and decides to kill themselves, only the next one may decide to take some of us with them.

It is difficult to feel compassion for someone who takes their life for something this stupid!!

My sympathies do go out to his family and loved ones. They have to try to understand what was really behind his meaningless death.

What a shame, seriously.

To have such a life that your biggest goal is to elect a fake like Kerry, and that if he isnt elected life isnt worth the living.

Politics are serious, but not that serious. We survived 2 terms of Clinton.

One serious thought - this poor shmuck was convinced that life was no longer worth living. How did this happen? As a direct result of a non-stop coast-to-coast propaganda effort telling him exactly that. If Bush wins, life as we know it is over, our country is gone, only despair remains. In other words, the entire DNC machine, plus their wholly owned MSM, CAUSED this guy to be suicidal - with a well engineered pack of lies. He bought it, and then, well, he bought it. I feel sorry for him. Really.

sadly, I'm not surprised. I knew this would happen given the typical leftist (assuming he was), many who lack any joy in life. Perhaps that man's God was "liberal government"? And his government seems to be crumbling down around him. That would explain everything...

You heartless sickos on this thread should re-think your "one less Democrat" or "one less vote for Hillary" statements. It's one thing to wish death upon an evil person, like Arafat, but another to rejoice or make jokes about a mentally unstable American, even if he/she votes for those on the Left.

At least this guy killed himself instead of others.

The liberals made a huge mistake by driving their constituency crazy with hate. Now that Bush has defeated them, their constituency is fleeing the country, or committing suicide because of the misinformation being spewed by the Democrats.

My guess is that there are going to be fewer liberals to vote in 2006.

Suicide is an incredibly selfish act. I am not surprised.

I don't want them to kill themselves.

I just want them to get the hell out of here.

Attention all Hollywood leftist loonies, your 747 is ready to board for departure to Europe. (We'll try and struggle along without you).

You leftist actors will be so much happier in Europe and America will smell so much better once you're gone.

For some of them, they have forsaken God and put politics in His place. That would be an emptiness I cannot imagine, especially when they convinced themselves that their idol of worship could not lose. Their superior ways just lost to, as they describe him, a chimp.

That's gotta suck... 8-D

In my estimation, most of them are mentally imbalanced if not down right unstable. Already the DUers are blaming the President.

My 1st thought of blame after his own poor decision was Michael Moron, DU, and all left wing media.

They brainwashed this kid into believing there was no life if Bush won. But he must have been hanging on by a thread apart from politics too.

May God have mercy on his soul.

Sad that this young man chose to end his life over the election.

I don't know how many on DU I read, as well as a couple of those 'sorryeverybody' pics, that had a silly leftist proclaiming their hopes that they will still be alive in four years. Some think they will be put in concentration camps now, some think they will be drafted, some just think we, conservatives, are going to hunt them down.

It's just irrational, but that's what the dem party counts on and reinforces. They especially love going after the kids - try to keep them from ever growing up emotionally.

I agree, may God have mercy on him, because leftist politics didn't.

That isn't nice.

But I do put the blame for this partly at the feet of the hysteria of the 'Rat party leadership and mouth pieces.

They have convinced some people that the world would end if Bush was re-elected. Ultimately he was responsible for his own actions but it is an established point that if you push someone over the edge that you are partly responsible. I would like to see his family bring a lawsuit against them.
