The values of Red America are ascendant: Fear, intolerance, and a pinched moral code
(Excerpt) Read more at bostonphoenix.com ...
The Phoenix has been published in Boston since about 1970 or so. They seem to be confused about the difference between "acceptance" and "tolerance". I can tolerate a lot of things that I think are wrong and don't accept.
My answer to thesep people: "GET A LIFE!!!"
Is this a 'gay' publication? All the comments from the homo lobby are that they feel 'disenfranchised'. What, someone took your vote away? Just cause you can't marry your boyfriend doesn't mean you've been disenfranchised. Maybe they need to organize a march on Washington?
The Boston Phoenix is a good read if you like to peruse personal ads or require the services of an escort agency!
when i hear stuff like this, i wish we could have an election every year or six months....
Somebody's paying for it.
That's right! They shouldn't have picked a moderate-right Democrat like Kerry, they should have picked a full-blown communist/socialist lefty, who took his marching orders from the communist party!
Call 1-800-Anita Ho for your escort, tonight....Don't forget about Baywindows too....Hot bottom.
Someone is indeed paying for it. To all conservatives in Mass. pick up a copy every time you see one and throw it away as quick as possible. If they want to waste their money, help them out.
They were all at rest stops on the cape and they forgot to vote!
The Phoenix is such a rag. Only good if you need to rent a stripper for a party.
Whoa! "Moderate right Democrat like Kerry"?! You're kidding, yes? Kerry was only pretending to be moderate, like all recent Dem. presidential candidates. He is every bit as left as can be - even socialist/communist. His record is one of siding with communists his entire adult life.
BUY KOOL-AID STOCK.
How true this is. It is amazing that the hapless liberals when defeated as they have been in 2000, 2002 and 2004 always react the same way. They blame their losses on their inability to make us understand their message. They seem incapable of accepting that we have heard their message loud and clear and have totally rejected same.
It is a perfect example of their extreme arrogance that they can't accept reality..
Whaddaya mean 'intolerance', Mr. Kennedy? We're tolerating your ilk whining up a storm quite easily. Wrt fear, you can seek professional help for that....

No sooner had Ohio fallen early Wednesday morning than NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw began badgering retired Senate Democratic leader George Mitchell about why his party had so alienated cultural conservatives. Mitchell, without answering the question directly, acknowledged the problem, and said that many on the religious right were "voting in a manner thats contrary to their economic interests."
Imagine that, there is something out there besides our own selfish interests! Who would have thought! And we're the ignorant ones.
They do not get it. They never have gotten it. They never will get it. They think they were beaten by a bunch of bible-thumping, rednecked, undereducated, gun-toting homophobes with zero intelligence and no class.
George W. Bush has shown us nothing but class, and offers the world maybe it's last chance for true peace and security. That peace will extend even to those elitists that hate him for his swagger, his Texas accent, and his hat.
They have alrady begun to deny there was any mandate in this past Tuesday's results, and I predict they will fight every move President Bush makes in spite of the odds against them, and in the face of the message they were just hit smack in the face with.
Here's hoping their misreading continues until they are so marginalized that Google can't find them.
Great print for toilet paper.
