This is the spin being promoted by the MSM-PBS-NPR-ETC intended to invalidate the election...That is, "moral issues" caused the Christian conservative born again neanderthals to turn out in record numbers, because of the politics of fear, hate, and division used by the Bushies.
I actually heard some left-wing-wack-job-author-political-analyst trying to make some sense of it all on NPR, trying to define how democrats could succeed. Among his other ridiculous comments was "liberals are religious in our guts, we just need to learn to talk about it and express it."
They took a call from a professed Christian lady in La. She said democrats lost because among other things they appointed judges like the one that was declaring the marriage protection act unconstitutional after it passed with nearly 80%.
Her call was followed by a liberal lady who said she felt a "scary cold chill" when she heard the previous lady talk about her religion and government in the same sentence.
Liberals love to obsess about the danger of America's conservative Christians...but appear to be clueless about the dangers of Islamic fundamentalist. They are so out of touch!

It will never happen. You are either for or against abortion, there is no choice. You are either for or against gay marriage. You are either for or against prayer. I would be curious to know if John Kerry had daily devotions and spent time daily reading the Word, instead of memorizing verses for a stump speech.

LOL - either one of our Notre Dame-educated sons could've written that.
No, haven't heard from either one today - I'm sure their depression is deep...

They scare the old with talk of social security going away. They scare blacks with fear of the KKK coming back, and they scare their elite whites with southern "born again Christians. I suspect the part of the exit poll that dealt with religion was as fake as the "Kerry wins" numbers.

As long as the most vocal cheerleaders and fund raisers for the Democrat Party are the hedonistic, immoral Hollywood crowd, Democrats won't convincingly pose as moralistic crusaders.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Matthew 7:15-17

Clinton and Gore claimed to be born-agaim Christians and got up to half of the evangelical voteOh, I don't know about that. The real Evangelicals were eschewing those elections in droves, but turned up for this one. Clinton and Gore are CINOs--even more specifically, Baptists in name only, or BINOs (hey, that's catchy--"AlBINO").
Churches in historically cultural Christian areas, like the one I grew up in in West Virginia, are full of people who might identify themselves as Christian but are quite simply not the real thing. Anyone can call themselves Christian. But going to McDonald's doesn't make you a cheeseburger either. And if Al Gore or Bill Clinton are born again, then I'm a Bhutanese goat peddler.

Keep the faith. I got a science degree from a conservative church-affiliated
college...it took me about 15 years to grow out of rebelling against the
sane, moral advice they were dispensing at the place.
I went through that oft-cited 20-year growth cycle from liberal to conservative
made famous by Churchill.

The best thing for me was to study apologetics, and see that Christianity is based on facts. Jesus really rose. It's not just blind faith. We have eyewitness evidence.
We need to be discerning for these libs claiming morality. It's not hard work to recognize falsity, once you know truth!
