His percentages were UP or equal to those from 2000 in EVERY state except Vermont.

the result is now clear -- a record voter turnout and a broad, nationwide victory," Bush said.

Ummmm, can a more html-savvy freeper please put up, for their benefit, the current "Bush Country" map? 'Cause it sure the heck looks like a broad, nationwide victory to me! TIA!!!

"Not sure what's going on in NM."

Governor Richardson is still trying to get those 10,000 new indian votes to the polls.

"...but the networks aren't calling it yet and probably never will."

You don't think they're going to adopt a "Bush didn't win, Kerry quit" attitude, do you?

You are right, in absolute terms, when viewed historically, it is a function of population increase. However, in 2000, the President got less popular votes than Gore. This year, with all the baggage the Liberals, the democrats and the MSM media saddled him with, the President still received approximately 3,500,000 votes more than Kerry. The differential between the President's 2000 numbers and his 2004 numbers cannot be explained by population growth. The answer lies more in the response of the American people to the President's leadership, likability, policies, etc. A truly impressive accomplishment all things considered.

By keeping the EV total low they can run up the flagpole the old 'he doesn't have a mandate' canard.

Reagan carried 49 states and they declared he did not have a mandate. I guess only Demoncrats can have a mandate, like Clinton did when he won with 43% of the vote.

Just check Foxnews.com The last senate race has been called, for the Rep (no idea who were the last ones, Fox's website isn't being very useful for that). That's a 4 seat gain. Definitely a broad victory.

RE: the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress when they railroaded Nixon.

Yes, and there was no Internet. Also, talk radio had been virtually shut down due to the "Fairness Doctrine" complaints by JFK / LBJ liberals.

The mechanics are different today but the hatred is the same. The media, et al. were in an actual frenzy against Nixon. IMO this generation of MSM employees, et al. will push the attacks on President Bush beyond the frenzy against Nixon. President Bush is far more likable than Nixon was, however.

I'd ask people I worked with why they disliked President Nixon. At best they could parrot the TV network "news" but nothing more. They just hated him. I hear the same today.

Hopefully, (with our help) by 2008 it will be the mainstream media employees who are destroyed not President Bush.

Guys...ignore this crap. It's CNN and they can't stand Bush won so they have to make petty digs that are so transparent Helen Keller could see through it.

They know perfectly well Bush won 2 Gore states.

They still don't get it! The Democrats have been stomped in the dirt 6 elections in a row. The just suffered a thorough repudiation of every thing they stand for. And they are saying- Bush had better reach out to us! He had better move our way!

Excuse me, but haven't the voters made it plain- by more votes than have ever been cast in all of history- that it is the Democrats who ought to move toward Republican positions?

Does anyone know the final results in Wisconsin??? I heard Karen Hughes say that when all was said and done in Wisconsin, it would be in the "W" column.
