Statement of Admiral Roy Hoffmann, founder of Swift Vets and POWs for Truth
SwiftVets and POWs for Truth ^ | November 3, 2004 | Admiral Roy Hoffman

Posted on 11/03/2004 10:23:03 AM PST by Nick Danger

We are pleased with the fact that we were able to effectively bring attention to our issues and raise questions regarding Senator Kerry’s character, leadership ability and qualifications as a potential Commander in Chief. As we have stated since we formed, we believed that John Kerry’s actions in Vietnam, coupled with the reprehensible statements he made after he returned were serious and consequently made him unfit for command. The primary purpose of our organization was to provide a voice for the courageous and honorable veterans of Vietnam, more than 280 Swift Boat Vets, Coast Guardsmen and POWs who served their country with honor. Our national grassroots efforts produced donors in every state in the nation as we raised more than $26 million, with more than $7 million in online contributions. In addition, Swift Boat Veterans and former POW's visited dozens of states to take their message directly to the American people. We were the true embodiment of grassroots citizen action, complied fully with federal election law and had every right to participate in the public discussion of John Kerry's qualifications as Commander in Chief.

This Vietnam Vet got his revenge with this election against at least some of the anti-war scum that betrayed us 35 years ago. Particularly the media.

I cannot thank you officers and gentlemen enough...you all reflect great credit upon the US Navy and uphold it's finest traditions

My pop was a career US Navy officer...had he been alive to see this...he would have supported you all the way..
I spent my time in RVN with the 9th ID and on Ops with the Mobile Riverine Force, oft times in the same AO as you.

For my family...and its ultimate safety thanks to the defeat of John F Kerry...and for my nephews going into the Marines...thank you all

And God Bless and keep you...

And if you decide to continue in your efforts to bring John F Kerry to justice..to keep him from the Senate where he can still do harm to our nation and to bring him before the American people to expose him for what he truly is...a traitor..

My family will continue to support you all...

Again thank you...

God bless them all. Their contribution to the saving of our glorious Republic can never be precisely calculated but it was doubtlessly monumental. I'm smart enough to have foreseen that early on. My little program was to send them $25 every time they released an ad and I stuck to it while also donating to Stolen Honor. Doesn't sound like much, with me being the billionaire that I am, but I feel extremely good about it and, obviously, I wasn't alone by a long shot.

The swift boat vets haunted me throughout the election. I imagined how they felt being betrayed by a fellow soldier like they were, and the aftermath (spit on, called baby killer, etc. Maybe now Kerry knows how it feels to be kicked in the gut!! God bless the vets, you are the ones who beat John Kerry!!!!! I hope you finally get the closure you so rightly deserve.

The swift boat vets/POWs have haunted me the entire campaign. I can only imagine the betrayal these men felt at the hands of John Kerry and the aftermath they suffered through (spit on, called baby killers, etc.). Maybe now John Kerry knows how it feels to get kicked in the gut. God bless the vets!!!! They won this election for Bush!! I hope they can now get the much deserved closure they should have.

God bless you all. Welcome home.

Those two words "Welcome Home" have an extra meaning now.

The faux-America that Kerry tried to foist on The USA in the early Seventies had such an impact on our Brave Servicemen coming back from Viet Nam that they were not welcomed home at that time.

Thanks to the Admiral and all the Vets that came out with the truth the American People were able to see the truth and the results of this election could not be a better Welcome Home.

Over thirty years late but thanks to real soldiers who never stop fighting for their country all Viet Nam Vets now hear loud and clear from the American People

WELCOME HOME!

I also consider it a duty to continue to expose this pretense of a patriot.

So how do we all get onboard and organize that parade these fellows never had? They deserve it now more than ever. This can happen if we all go to work on it. How about a very special place in the inaugural parade?

My grandfather always used to say, " Wait on the side of the road with a big stick because they always come around at tleast one more time." Twisted mantra I know, but it has served me quite well in my life...patience pays off...we Irish are a vindictive lot, but only when it is deserved.

Vietnam vets had to wait nearly 30 years to reply to Kerry's heinous accusations, and they could never cost Kerry as much as he cost them, but they will have the last laugh...they were heros then, they are patriots now.

It took a lot of courage to subject yourselves to sort of scrutiny and public ridicule you've had to endure from the left and from the media. God bless you for being heroes once again.

History may record this election as the last battle of the War in Viet Nam. It was a resounding victory, largely through the efforts of the SwiftVets and POWs. Thank you Sirs, from the bottom of my heart. For the Swifties, Fair winds and following seas. For the POWs, Welcome home! You have once again demonstrated the strength and determination that makes this country great. The land of the free, because of the brave.
