Had a GREAT election omen last night. I live in the Los Angeles area and was leaving work at about 5:00 to watch election results. I zipped out of the parking structure heading down the road and right away saw that there was a motorcycle cop with his lights going behind me. I pulled over, got out and he said I was speeding and demanded my license. I said I didn't realize I was speeding and asked him to give me a break - but he had my license on his pad and was just about to start writing the ticket.
Then he looked up and noticed my "Bush/Cheney" sticker on my bumper. The cop (an African American looking at me Mr. white guy driving a Mercedes) says "did you vote this morning." I said I sure did, along with my wife and we brought our two small children. He said "so did I, Bush is going to take it" - handed me my license and said "drive safe."
Swear to God, true story. Beginning of a great night and FANTASTIC MORNING! God bless George Bush and this country.
LOL, great story!
God bless our wonderful Policemen, and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
YAHOOO! The best part of that story is that more and more people are waking up and realizing that it's the ideals that draw us together.
Cops voted for Bush. They don't want a pansy (Kerry) running the show...
That is a great story. I had a couple of cops in West Texas let me go some years ago when they noticed the conservative bumper sticker I had on my jeep, but that was Texas not California and they were a couple of good old boys, not an Afro-American.
Whew !! I've been there !! It's kind of GIDDY !!, A Comoraderie, the WE! Alright, Yes !!!!
I had a dream last night that President Bush came to my house and was sitting on the sofa in my livingroom, just making small talk.
Yahoo!
discretion is by far the finest tool we, as cops, have. i'm not saying i pulled over people with kerry stickers, that would be wrong. but nothing states i can't believe someone with a bush sticker and let them go.
This reminded me of an experience I had at a local Dodge dealer. My engine light was on so I pulled it to get it checked. The guy who wrote me up said "I'll check it out right now since you have the balls to have a Bush/Cheney sticker on your car." He also gave me a "special" 10% discount on the labor when I brought it back in for repairs :)
WOW!
Cool story.
I am really interested to see the shift in black voting, plus Jews and Hispanics.

Great story! So much for the dem's mantra of Pres. Bush bringing division!
Similar thing happened to a Russian immigrant voter in Ohio yesterday...was posted here. After the long lines had to speed to get to work...30 miles over the limit. When mention of Bush vote, cop let off with a warning.
I smiled and said, "Yep. I'm voting for the American in this race!"
My doc laughed and said, "Yes, well...as a doctor, I can't vote for a ticket that has a trial lawyer who made his millions by suing people like me."
: )
An African American AND a police officer.....
No, there must be some mistake. Kerry told me that the police officers were supporting him...along with a majority of African Americans.
He WAS telling me the truth.......wasn't he?
</sarcasm>
If you find those statistics before I do please ping me. I am exceedingly interested in that, too having concentrated on that "on my knees".
Great story and deeply appreciated.
My wife is African-American and I cannot tell you the dirty looks that libs give her when she wears her "Bush/Cheney" buttons! But I'm telling you, it is SO turning around for Republicans when it comes to African Americans. Same thing with Hispanics and it is simple: both groups are starting to get a bigger piece of the pie in this country.
And they are realizing that Republicans helped them get to that piece of pie and the Democrats will just take it away.
Numbers will be even bigger in '08.
Sweet.
