Here comes the “Gloom & Doom”. The Polls today and early voting and record turnout predictions are meant to rattle us. If this scenario was true, why was President Bush campaigning in States that went for Gore by large margins? Why is Hawaii in play? Finally if you want to look at a poll, the NY Times/CBS not only has president Bush up by 3, but Bush’s internals are at an time high, while Kerry is at an all time low. We all must go out and VOTE. One final comment is regarding is FOX’S latest poll having Kerry up by 2. One word: SELL OUT!! SHAME ON YOU FOX NEWS!!! After the election I will not watch FOX again, unless Alisyn Camerota is on air.

As with every John Leboutillier thread, I will again point out that he's a Bush-hating idiot from way back. He makes Lyndon LaRouche look sane.

I have to disagree with him.

The GOP has registered many new voters as well.

And, unlike the Dems, they weren't paid to do so.

He is right that tomorrow will be a battle of hate vs. passion.

But, I think passion for our candidate will win the day.

Why? Hate didn't work in 1996, and Reagan/Carter can't be compared to this election. There is nowhere near the anti-Carter feeling out there today regarding Bush. We think it is that bad because of various stories and stuff, but if it truly was that bad, you would see his approval drop to 40 percent or below.

Your best bet is to just ignore the polls and vote. The tiger is the most dangerous when she is wounded. That is where the Democrats are today.

We've had a Republican congress for years, and we are on the brink of having another 2 term president, who is hell bent on overhauling the liberal judiciary and spreading freedom abroad. The Democrats are on the brink of extinction, and they are pulling out all of the stops like a desperate, dying man. Look at the liberal Media peddling lies for Kerry. The Times and CBS are selling outright fraud for Kerry. Even the polling organizations
are in on it. Zogby (an Arab who's been very critical of Bush) "surprisingly" shows Kerry edging ahead. Gallup decided to allocate 90% of its undecideds to Kerry in the last poll, which brought the overall poll even. What a joke. Even Bin Laden has re-emerged with the Kerry/Michael Moore talking points, talking about a "truce" with those states that vote for Kerry.

I may be wrong, but I see a solid Bush victory, because of what I know about America. My America didn't blink when the Soviets were threatening world domination and the Democrats (including Kerry) wanted a nuclear freeze.
They overwhelmingly backed Reagan and sent the message that we would never back down. My America backed the entry of the U.S. into WWII, at a huge cost of American life, even though we could have said that this was "not our war," or "Germany didn't attack us, Japan did." For the last 100 years, when freedom was at stake and tyranny was threatening, my America stepped forward, with those young, stalwart, crew-cut wearing heroes pouring into
the breach, and the people backing them at home.

Now, we have been attacked on our own soil. They killed over 3,000 Americans on the streets of NY and DC and tried to bring us down. I cannot fathom, even for a second, that my America would let this fanatic Bin Laden get his preferred candidate, John Kerry, into the White House.

Maybe I am too idealistic. Maybe Vietnam and the cancerous generation that besmirched our honor have done lasting damage to the resolve of my America. I refuse to believe that. I believe in that tired, soiled firefighter with tears in his eyes as he waved the tattered remains of Old Glory at Ground Zero. I believe in the U.S. Marine who asked to go back to his troops in Iraq, even though he had been wounded three times and had automatically merited a discharge. I believe in the people who still get the chills down their spine when the words "O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave" are sung at a sporting event. I simply cannot believe that this country would knuckle under in the face of the terrorist threat.

Call me a pathetic idealist, but that is just how I feel. We will win tomorrow. My America will not let us down.

Sorry about the long post, but I had to get this off my chest.

Leboutillier had NO use for Bush in 2000, and wrote about how much stronger Gore was (or Bush being weaker) as a candidate.

Interestingly enough, I can find no article by him (before this one) since August of 2000.

What MAY be the most telling thing about him was that he participated in the effort -- lead by Kerry and McCain -- in 1990's effort to normalize relations with Viet Nam...that essentially ended up shutting down the pressure to continue to find any more live POWs/MIAs, with the conclusion that any not accounted for were considered dead.

He is a Republican -- former congressman -- but something is not right with this guy!

We are going to have an unprecedented turnout - the largest ever - and that is not good news for the GOP and President Bush.

True, unfortunately, since there are more registered D's than R's.

A left-leaning friend of mine asked me a week ago if I was ready for "regime change", as he put it. I told him that I was resigned to that outcome already and that Kerry scares the hell out of me. "Bush scares me even more" was his reply, which seems to be the mantra out here in CA.

I've done my part by voting R like I always do but once again R's will get wiped out here.

Ya, your right, I want to hear what this "positive attitude" types have to say once they've realized we lost, ultimately, they are as blind as the liberals, if Bush wins, I Scythian will resign from the freerepublic never to be seen again, however, if Kerry wins I'm going to resign as well (it's all over then anyway).

Hey positive attitude folks, positive attitudes don't win elections, keeping the faith doesn't win elections as you're going to find out.

A high turn out means that the 10 million Evangelical Christians that didn't vote in 2000 will be at the polls this time having learned their lesson. After 911 there was an increase of 40% in new Evangelical Christians.

High turnout means Kerry victory

Not necessarily. I remember when all the freshman Republicans took control of the house. The head of the campaign office kept saying, this high turnout is bad. High turnout goes for the Dems.

But all of us working the phones were finding that every Republican on our lists had already voted. The high turnout was Republicans turning out. If every Republican voted and voted for Bush, the turnout would be high and Bush would be reelected.
